arcangel Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hey guys in ET i'm known as Archangel Yesterday on jay1 one of F|A clan members encouraged me to create this topic, because of my lagging problem. I'm from Poland, that's why my ping is high and my connection isn't best. If you can help me, I would be really happy. Starting from beginning, specs of my pc: 1. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2,8 GHz 2. RAM: 2Gb Kingston DDR2 3. Graphics: NVIDiA GeForce 9800GT 1Gb DDR3 256bit i think 4. Monitor: 17" 1280x1024 60-85 Hz 5. Internet: It's polish Neostrada livebox(polish people will know what is it ) Speed: 10Mbit/s 6. Graphics: For me it's not rly important, it can be ugly. I want to be able to see an enemy, mostly everywhere(snow etc.)7. I played 1024x760, beause it was in config which i used. 8. Sensitivity: 2.20 9. Crosshair: the fifth one 10. Fov: 90-110 11. Special binds: I used Winghaven config which I placed in this post Winghaven.cfg. I adapted to his binds, but I noticed that class selection binds, choosing a team, quick artillery and "long-close fov' binds doesn't work on jay1. Best way would be a new cfg with involved binds of Winghaven. Quote
Administrators daredevil Posted July 16, 2014 Administrators Posted July 16, 2014 We would need your winMTR report. Quote
excedo Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) You find info about that here mate, use the first step: http://fearless-assassins.com/forum-206/announcement-9-how-to-recognize-your-lag/ Edited July 16, 2014 by Motafied! Quote
Ann!b@l Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Here is a mix of a sample of my cfg that I adapted at your requirements and your binds: arcangel.cfg(resolution: 1280x1024, fov: 110) arcangel 2.cfg (resolution: 1024x768, fov: 110) If you want it at a fov of 90 let me know. Also, follow the request quoted above and post a WinMTR (32 bits, 64bits) report here, just in case. Quote
arcangel Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Hey again, I tested these cfgs which Ann!b@l posted, they seem quite okay, but i miss few things like information who killled someone and things like this. I wasn't able to seelags in gaming, because jay1 wasn't full. I post a WinMTR log which i made(for google) log.txt Offtop question: Why in config while shooting max fps is 76, while jumping is 125? i was thinking about it, but i didn't found an answer. Quote
Ann!b@l Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Why in config while shooting max fps is 76, while jumping is 125? i was thinking about it, but i didn't found an answer. Those 2 values are the famous magic values (76,125 & 333) who allow to jump (trickjump) higher because they are a multiple of 1000. Now why 76 while shooting and 125 to jump?!? Probably because there's a decrease of fps because of the sound, marks, muzzleflash,..., while jumping there's not such things. For my part, I use the same value since my render is fully tweaked and anyway my pc allows me to play even with full details without any decrease of fps Quote
arcangel Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Should it be changed in my situation? I found few new things 1. Lagometer is useful, I think i will need him 2. fov: 90, on 11 i cant shoot directly in head 3. resolution: 1024x760, it's strange to play on higher Quote
Ann!b@l Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 3. resolution: 1024x760, it's strange to play on higher Which resolution do you want? Quote
PiNoY Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 1024x768 Don't you want a lower one to gain extra FPS? Quote
arcangel Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 It wasn't my goal, I played long at that resolution, so I won't have to get used to diffrent. Is it illegal or sth? Quote
arcangel Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 Okey, I played for a longer time with this config on, and i noticed few problems. 1. Huge fps drop on maps like fuel dump, lower on baserace(i know that these maps are killer fps) 2. Shaking textures on Oasis, supply depot (visible in corrdors, and stairs) and map which i dont remember a name. That's all I noticed for now. I play mostly, is it possible to make a cfg more for shooters? Quote
