Name stealer

Heya guys.

 

So,

 

It seems there's a guy who stole my name (again)... He uses "ep*|Lem0n" or something like that.

It's not the first time he steals my nickname (that's how i'm guessing it's the same person) and he's french like me.

 

I've asked him politely in /pm "change your name please"...no response, so i spammed it a few times, he finally answered and said "No" ...

 

Can an admin please !warn him or do something? I know it's only a name in a video game but it's still quite irritating. (especially that it's not the 1st time this happens...)

 

 

As i saw on SL and GameTracker, he plays on most F|A servers but he's got low XP, so you'll know it's not me  .Also his IP says he lives near Aulnay-sous-Bois which is northeast of Paris - I'm south of Paris idk if this helps...

Hi Lemon .

 

Everybody is free to use what name they like. Its not like that whos first or so.

I belive u that it is irritating, that he uses the same name as u do. But admins cant do nothing against it.

 

We and you cant choose a name and call it yours copyright. Am i right?

 

Therefor we, you have to seek another way out. Choose new name or new colours, its up to u. But admins cannot force to change players name unless its against our rules.

I understand your situation, here's what you can do now that you've registered and made 1 post on forum : second step will be to INTRODUCE YOURSELF http://fearless-assassins.com/forum/83-introduce-yourself/ and you know we are still recruiting, if you are interested, you can apply with a 40.000 XP SS (ScreenShot). 

If your application process is accepted, =F|A=lem0n won't be "stealable" lol

 

For the nicknames, there's no copyright ! 

In our wiki's admin rules, you would find in the "player names" section, that even DD, who's one of the founder said :

• "daredevil" Allowed. I don't have copyright for my name. =F|A= Daredevil not allowed. Their is one guy playing with name joedirt white letters. I always allow him. Why? It's not reason to fight over just one name. Always do !list to see admin levels. Thats it.

Yes =F|A=flag =not allowed , Flag allowed!

But what if he doesnt want to join.

Thats not the way players can keep their name... I mean yes this one way, but we cant force players to join just to keep their name.

However, if he plays with the exact same colors, on the same server, and changes with you if you change colors,  I would rely on common sense to say: don't allow it. If this is the case, I would consider it just another way of trolling. It's annoying as well for the player as for admins (who stacked teams, who was it being friendly to ask for application for membership,...)

If he just plays with the same name, but with a difference in capital/number/color/tag, I don't see any reason to prohibit it. In this case we can clearly see a difference, he doesn't take away your reputation, and so on.

 

I would also suggest to register on trackbase (http://et.trackbase.net/news/48/Player-registration---TrackBase-Tip.html) to reserve your name.

Yes if you join us then he cant use exactly same name in our servers, but that cant be you only reason to join us. I know its annoying if someone use same name as you. But maybe you can change your name little bit if he is online sametime.

yes do what plato says register /reserve your name on track base make sure ou put your name in exact colour and characters you use on server  as for us asking him to change his name not much we can do again names not copy right
