NormanCorn Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I'm pretty excited because this fall I get to see two great bands that have eluded me (as well as the rest of the world) for a long while. I have also had a string of really awesome concerts in the past months (3 shows in 2 weeks in May.) Thinking back on all of this leaves me curious about your concert history, so try to answer the following: 1. What was your very first concert ever, and how was it? 2. What was your favorite concert ever, and why? 3. What is the next concert on your list/wishlist? I'll start: 1. What was your very first concert ever, and how was it? My first concert was Bob Dylan at the Wachovia Center (where the Sixers play) with my dad. He is a huge Dylan fan, and I kind of wasn't...before the concert, anyway. I was probably 12-13, and I figured I'd go to see him before he died...but it ended up being awesome, and totally opened my eyes to his music. 2. What was your favorite concert ever, and why? My favorite concert as of right now was Deervana at Brooklyn Bowl back in September or something. It was the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's In Utero, and Deer Tick played the album straight through for a one night show. Mosh pits, stage divers, and a huge down pillow fight at the end of the night to close things up, along with a pretty authentic performance, made things very cool. 3. What is the next concert on your list/wishlist? Next up as of right now are The Raveonettes, who never tour, but have a show in Brooklyn this fall, and I can't wait. (The other band I'm seeing is The New Pornographers about a week later in Philadelphia.) 2 Quote
LustyRazor Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) 1. What was your very first concert ever, and how was it? Ended up going to most all the concerts my college put on. I think the first one was Alien Ant Farm which I was a fan of at the time so I thought it was pretty awesome. I remember seeing Saliva too which was crazy as hell. There was a mosh pit in which I lost a flip flop and had to walk back to my dorm barefoot. 2. What was your favorite concert ever, and why? Favorite concert was more recently. Cut Copy played here in New Orleans and they put on a fantastic show. I also saw Simon & Garfunkel a few years back at JazzFest which was a lot of fun. Another favorite I remember was Imogen Heap. The venue was really intimate and she has a killer voice. 3. What is the next concert on your list/wishlist? There are so many concerts and musicians here in New Orleans it's pretty easy to be spontaneous about finding great music. That said, the wife wants to go see Lykke Li which I think would be lots of fun. I also wouldn't mind seeing Delta Spirit and Arcade Fire (all very different kinds of music). Pretty great you got to see Dylan. Also, I've been to Brooklyn Bowl for a conference and that place is kick ass! Some huge band was setting up the last night I had to leave. There was a brass band, a drum line, all kinds of people in the background sound checking different instruments and chicks hanging from fabric from the ceiling. I wish I had gotten to see them play and I can't remember who it was. Edited August 10, 2014 by LustyRazor 1 Quote
Internet Explorer Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 1. What was your very first concert ever, and how was it? My first concert was Def Leppard. It was really amazing even though I was only 8 years old 2. What was your favorite concert ever, and why? My favorite concert was Reo Speedwagon. I was really close to stage and even caught a guitar chip the lead singer threw (Kevin Cronin). 3. What is the next concert on your list/wishlist? It would be amazing to see Volbeat. 1 Quote

I had tickets to see Delta Spirit on NYE at Brooklyn Bowl, but plans fell through 1 Quote

gaskarthx Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 1. What was your very first concert ever, and how was it?My first concert ever was this year, on 23rd of February, I went to the concert of All Time Low (A Love Like Tour). It was soooo amazing, I waited like since 10:00h outside, and they were going to play at like 18:30h. I didn't mind waiting for hours, because I was going to see them live, ahhh :3. In the line I met some other fans, which was so cool, they were all so nice and kind! We all were like singing songs and shouting 'All Time Low' just to pass the time. Even some people on the street were asking to us what we were waiting for, and if we said 'All Time Low', nobody knew them haha.ANYWAYS. When the time was finally there, I was sooo nervous. Like, I was going to see them live! I got kinda pushed away by people who wanted to go inside the building as fast as they can, but finally I went inside, I was standing like in the left/middle pretty much in the front, and I knew Jack would play left on stage, Alex in the middle, Zack on the right, but I could better go to the left/middle because there were at that moment less people. ALRIGHT omg the concert itself... damn, I talk too much about this but ahhhh this was just so amazing omg. When Rian, Zack, Jack and Alex finally got on stage, everybody were going crazy. I didn't even believe it was really them and that I really were there, it seemed so unreal, but when they played the first notes of Do You Want Me (Dead?), everybody cheered and sang along. It felt so good to be there, even though I am pretty awkward and don't like crowded rooms - especially with strangers, I felt like I belonged there. I didn't even felt a bit anxious, it was sooo awesome. All Time Low is live sooo good and how they interact with the fans is just... dahhh <3. Jack was just being his shameless, goofy, funny self and I laughed so many times when I was there. One girl passed out during Somewhere In Neverland and Alex stopped the song and asked to give the girl some space and Jack said 'Only a kiss from a Prince can wake her up,' and Alex gave the girl a bottle of water when she got up with help, and Alex is such a sweetheart and asked if she was really okay, and told us that he doesn't want anybody to get hurt, so... And there were also circle pits and some people moshing, and Alex said we had to help eachother up if someone fell :3. Anyways, when they played Time-Bomb, they asked two fans on stage to sing it with them and the two girls on stage were so lucky and one of them was kinda shy and Alex told her that it was okay c: After all, this was just an amazing experience and oh lord, I could keep writing how awesome it was, but it gets already so long so you guys won't probably read this but alskdjfs it was so nice ;D.2. What was your favorite concert ever, and why?All Time Low, because... look above.3. What is the next concert on your list/wishlist?All Time Low, for sure. I would also really like to see Sum 41 and Green Day live. And if I have to pick other bands I like, I'd also enjoy to see Silverstein or Bullet For My Valentine live. Oh, and I saw Airbourne the 27th of July live at an festival, and they were pretty good too c: Ohhh and if My Chemical Romance gets back together, that would be so lovely too, I'd like to see them play live at least once too. Oh gosh, I wrote so much, sorry xD. 1 Quote
Joshmeister Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 1. What was your very first concert ever, and how was it? My first and only concert was the Blue Man Group! It was pretty cool, aside from this stupid DJ that played for like an hour before the actual group came on. 2. What was your favorite concert ever, and why? Like in #1, my only concert was the Blue Man Group concert. 3. What is the next concert on your list/wishlist? I would love to go to a concert of The Police! 2 Quote
