google+ Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 just saw the trailer for Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and i personally am not interested. Main reason is that i haven't really been into the futuristic FPS games. except TitanFall, but that's besides the point.Yes, i may check it out, and maybe my opinion will change, but we'll see.i want to hear about some of your opinions about this. ~Google+ Quote
ronaldounit0 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Up until the first black ops, I really haven't been all that excited for new cod games. Sadly they just don't deliver the same experience that CoD 4 does anymore. Don't get me wrong, the devs do well, and I couldn't do what they do, but it's just not what I'm into anymore! Quote
vyder Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I just saw the new trailer and it looks good. I love futuristic games and played a lot of BF2142. However, after COD4, I lost interest in the COD games because that is when they started to shift COD as a port of the console rather than its own iteration that focuses on the benefits of pc gaming such as increased player count. I hope this game is good and that it gives people more variety but at console gaming grows, pc gaming with become more marginalised. I don't think that PC gaming is going anywhere for now and its good to see things like Steam and the Steam box having such a huge audience. It's hard to deny the money making capability of going console though. Homogenous hardware produces an experience that is easy to replicate for many players and it just seems easier, I think, from a developers point of view. I saw this video a few weeks again and it epitomises why COD4 is so good and has stood the test of time. Quote
Kepar Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I played COD4 few times on PS3 but I liked BO and BO2 more I was just used to them. COD MW2 and MW3 IMO were the worst CODs ever. When I heard that Sledgehammer is doing on COD this year I thought it will be a lot different in a good way then from IW and Treyarch but its not, its too futuristic and it just dont have that COD spirit it looks like a completely new game. Advanced Warfare seems like it have good graphics but people are made poorly but everything else looks hmm.. I will say good but it doesnt have any better graphic then previous CODs. Gameplay itself seems ok :/ I thought it was crazy that Black Ops 2 was in 2025 but this is even crazier, they should just make a new game not ruining this one, and I also noticed and definatly a lot more people too that every year they are getting worse like all they care is money they are going to make not the satisfaction of customers. And of course every year they are getting more and more expensive (well it does where I live) in Croatia when they just come out about month or two difference from America they cost about 100 USD or in croatian currency 550 HRK. Goldman Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I don't really like the futuristic atmosphere of the new COD but what I especially hope is that Sledgehammer settle as soon as possible all the problems that flee players in the community. Connection problems is the major problem in Call of Duty, more than maps, weapons balancing. The fact that we die too soon because of the lag compensation is what enrages many players, and this is a problem that affects us all. Quote
NewBeFR Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I like futuristic FPS but I'm not interessted.. just by CoD, I am really desappointed by the last: same graphic, no real amelioration, etc.. I prefer games like old CoD (CoD4 o/), and other real good dgames: METRO: LAST LIGHT, Uncharted, Max Payne, Dead Space, etc.. Quote
SiD Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 f*** that noise. Ghosts was a complete failure in terms of the PC release. BO2 was stale. COD is too expensive of a series to even bother with new releases. Pay $60 for a new release. Then another 20-40 for DLC/Season passes. Most new releases after MW become stagnant and shitty because everyone jumps to the next game. Not even worth it any more. I kind of wish COD would just stick to shitty console releases, because the last few years has been nothing but junk. BUT WAIT! There's more! The shitty price point stays for a very long time. CoD4 is STILL $20 on steam. Why the f*** am I paying more for digital copies? I can see paying $20 for a disk, booklet, box art etc. People gotta get paid. But $20 for digital information? Thankfully there's sales once every...what.. 6 months? Let's not forget the fact that there seems to be a lack of user owned servers in the newer COD games. What happens when AV stops support? Good bye multiplayer. I've been looking into alternative franchises to reinvent the wheel. Dirty Bomb, Insurgency etc. When it comes to COD new releases ...leave it to the wannabe MLGers and the Xbox tween generation. Quote
The_Dom Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Yeah, I agreed with DP. I have tried the other version of cod. I forked out way to much money for the same game, or you can look at it as map updates. I have sworn off buying future COD games. It's one of the reasons I came to FA, we had strong COD4 servers running. If COD series ever brings back dedicated servers without matchmaking, I might take a look at that game. But that will never happen. Quote
ReaperROS Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I agree with Sid, Call of Duty has become more of a yearly "Call for Money". Now Activision has 3 separate studios creating three separate Call of Duty Games. You have Infinity Ward working on their version, you have Treyarch working on theirs, and now you have Sledgehammer working on theirs. COD4 is a great game if played with the right amount of people, if you over populate the maps it just become a huge shit fest, nothing but nades, tubes, UAV whores and killstreak after bloody killstreak. I might as well go play something stupid like Quake. However I do like Insurgency, you can have up to 50 people on a server I believe and there are no kiddie rewards like killstreaks, or the all magical UAV. The bullet penetration is realistic, no worries about noobs using a UAV to wallbang here. What I like most is the CO-OP mode where you and 7 other people must work as a team of 8 to accomplish objectives against a very relentless enemy. If you die you do not respawn until the next objective is completed. The wounding is realistic and it has a suppression system, similar to the Red Orchestra games. Overall it's a great game for $14.99 and far better than any of the COD games currently available. 1 Quote
