Ol Smoke Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I have used all the weapons, over time, available on COD4. But after watching Vyder and talking to him, I decided to start using the MP5. This little guy is probably the most deadliest weapon in COD4. Especially when you use AV Jammer, and a silencer. I was able to get behind the lines of the enemy all the time. On the Wetworks ship I was able to steal behind them and sit in a shipping container and shoot them until one of them re-spawns and shoots me. This is Vyder's choice of weapons and now I see why. I used to use the G36C a lot but have noticed that it doesn't kill very good at a distance. But, the MP5 seems to hit hard, and a lot. It especially stays on target much better than the G36C. The one thing I can't figure out is how the MP5 (9mm) can kill a bot with two rounds, across the map, when the G3 (7.62) takes 2 or 3. (Both Silenced) I haven't tried the ACOG on the MP5, but today I think I might. I hate giving up secrecy for added penetration but it might be educational. Below is a history of the weapon. COD4 uses the 9mm version with the 19mm long casing. I wonder what the 7.62 version was like, man what a kick for a little gun. Notice that the MP5 is a smaller version of the G3. Cool stuff. . History[edit]Heckler & Koch, encouraged by the success of the G3 automatic rifle, developed a family of small arms consisting of four types of firearms all based on a common G3 design layout and operating principle. The first type was chambered for 7.62×51mm NATO, the second for the 7.62×39mm M43 round, the third for the intermediate 5.56×45mm NATO caliber, and the fourth type for the 9×19mm Parabellum pistol cartridge. The MP5 was created within the fourth group of firearms and was initially known as the HK54. Work on the MP5 began in 1964 and two years later it was adopted by the German Federal Police, border guard and army special forces. In 1980, the MP5 achieved iconic status as a result of its use by SAS commandos in Operation Nimrod, where they stormed the Iranian Embassy in London, rescuing hostages and killing five terrorists. The MP5 became a mainstay of SWAT units of law enforcement agencies in the United States since then. However in the late 1990s, as a result of the North Hollywood shootout, police special response teams have supplanted some MP5s with AR-15-based assault rifles.[4] The MP5 is manufactured under license in several nations including Greece (formerly at EBO – Hellenic Arms Industry, currently at EAS – Hellenic Defense Systems), Iran (Defense Industries Organization), Mexico (SEDENA), Pakistan (Pakistan Ordnance Factories), Saudi Arabia, Sudan (Military Industry Corporation), Turkey (MKEK), and the United Kingdom (initially at Royal Ordnance, later diverted to Heckler & Koch Great Britain).[7] . 1 Quote
SiD Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Mp5 is pretty OP in HC. It takes a little more skill than the P90, but not a weapon I'm a fan of. It's probably hypocritical that I rock a tube 'n LS, but more often than not it's my way to counter those guns. You can seriously just run around a corner and spray and get a few kills. I tend to get frustrated when I'm running Ak, I fire and I die first because the MP5 has such a quick fire rate. Combine that with the sprint perk 3x nades and uav jammer and it's pretty annoying. Mp5 is very versatile weapon and while I hate it, those that use it make very good use of it. I've tried the weapon, but I don't like it for long range. Quote
CruelKind Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 If you want to add the extra damage without giving up the UAV Jammer, you can try Deep Impact instead of Stopping Power. I've found it makes a difference on dmg just the same. Quote
Wizbang Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Tis my favorite too. I go mp5 with iron sights....acog just messes me up too much... Quote
docwarren Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Combine that with the sprint perk 3x nades and uav jammer and it's pretty annoying. Exactly what I suggest Vyder change his name to....... Annoying. 1 Quote
vyder Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Wow tanks for the info Smoke. That little mp5 I have found to be a great gun in COD4. It is very quick, not the quickest, but more powerful than the smaller guns in my experience. It has great medium distance accuracy and take downs are fairly quick. I have tried the p90 and while it has more bullets, I find that it take more shots to kill ppl and it is just not as accurate. When I started out, I tried using the g36 and that gun is great. The only issue I have with it is that its iron sights block out field of view to some extent. I would have preferred a modified iron sight so that you can see more action. I am glad that you are trying out the stealth approach smoke. It is definitely a beast behind enemy lines esp while hidden. While speaking to someone on the server, they said that the ak47u was a pretty sweet gun. I have never really used it that much but I guess I can take a look. It seems to spray a bit more that the mp5 but it is worth a shot testing it out. Quote
Goldman Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I also like the MP5, but for me, the best weapon in hardcore mode is the P90 with the silencer. Although accuracy is lower in long distance as the MP5. Quote
google+ Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 i personally think the scorpian is way better. no recoil, perfect accuracy, and great at close quarters. only downfall is the small magazine. Quote
Jacker Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 mp5.... i started using it after spectating annoying for some times... but just to throw in some thoughts: a mp5 kills with one shot, while a g3 or g36 need some more (in game) - the muzzle velocity of a HK MP5 is around 375 m/s, the velocity on a MP5SD (the silenced one, but i don't think it was adopted in cod4) is around 280 m/s. that means you are hit by a 9 x 19 mm bullet (weight around 8 grams). that's called "manstopper". a g3(g3a3 ingame) has a muzzle speed around 800 m/s. the bullet 7.62 x 51 mm weighs around 9 grams. (when it does not hit anything, it may fly up to 10km!) this will go right thru you. you may not even notice that you're hit and bleeding as f**k - until you drop to the ground, aksing why... a g36c: 5.56 x 45 mm: muzzle speed: around 780 m/s at weight of around 4 grams (no hit - )... if a g3 goes thru, the g36 does as well... Heckler & Koch even had to modify the gun to get the muzzle speed below 800 m/s - just to get the licences of NATO... all assault-rifles above 800 m/s are simply prohibited for NATO armies in terms of human rights and stuff. that is why the mp5 kills "earlier" then the other guys... the system: think about a W1200 (called defender ) caliber 12 - 18.2 x 76 mm, weight around 32 grams... but it won't kill anyone further away then around 35 meters...
