Minecraft Science and minecraft

Science, yay! Everyone loves overcomplicated videos about videogames that literally have nothing to do with anything.

What?

He explains that "The speed of light" is not a limit of speed but a limit placed on speed, amongst other things, and it has "literally nothing to do with anything"?

Did you even watch the video? o.O

Yes, I did watch it. What I mean is that comparing the speed of light to minecraft and how fast you would have to travel to match it literally does nothing for us, it's just... useless information. It doesn't have anything to do with anything, since we can't use it for any thing.

What it does for us, or at least for me, is allows us to use knowledge we already have and apply it to his explanation giving us a better understanding of what he means. He also used the Minecraft world as a sandbox to help explain some of the mechanics involved. On top of all that, it uses a medium we can relate to, especially useful for those of us that think in pictures.

Quite a lot of the information you learn throughout your life you can't really use, for whatever reason. If you only plan on only learning things you can make use of, you're going to miss out on a hell of a lot of wonderful things.
