Hi

Yesterday I started playing ET.Connected to a server and really liked it.The problem is,All the players are bots and it's really a waste of bandwidth to play it online.(My ADSL connection is bandwidth limited). So I want the exact same config and mod and bot of this server to host a local game and play it offline.

Would appreciate a step by step guide.

Here is the IP of the server: 93.186.196.144:27960

Name of server is No Download StandartMaps XPSave and map is marrakech street 2 by night

Thanks.

Playing with bots is not as fun as playing with real players, so I wonder why you play on a server with bots only, there are many servers and finding one with human players on shouldn't be hard

I never liked omnibots much (and bots in general if you ask me), there used to be a (very) old mod called Fritzbot which I liked more back then (except that they proned alot during fights, which is not common or realistic for real ET players - unless they are Americans :D:P), then you also have bobots.

Again, playing vs bots is not even close to the experience of playing with real players, regardless of your skill, beginner or not.

Anyway, coming to the point,

if you want to play against bots and avoid complex setups (e.g. making a dedicated server with omnibot) I would suggest downloading a mod like bobots or fritzbot, then from the main menu you choose "mods" and the mod you downloaded, and after that "host game"

to install a mod you just need to cpoy its folder where other mods are (e.g. etmain, etc.) that is, it will be a subfolder of the folder "Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory"

This way you don't need a dedicated server

bobots are here:

What he said :P and i agree you won't improve just playing against bots because the movements of bots are very different to humans so what i'd recommend is to play against players that are better than you and maybe watch some videos of professional players in scrims or whatnot.

FA servers are often full, I don't know what's your timezone and which mod you prefer, but there is plenty of choice

http://fearless-assassins.com/enemyterritory-servers.html

I usually play in fa beginners jaymod server

178.63.72.170:27960

but others are even more packed with players

when I talked about the fact that playing vs bots is boring, I didn't mean the (true) fact that you won't improve your skill, but also it's more fun with real players with all the chat and the rest...

instead of using the ingame server browser you should try some website like trackbase (et.trackbase.net), I never use the in-game browser because I play always in the same places, so I just added them on external game browsers (xqf on Linux, on Win I use one I did myself years ago, not really good but it suits me...)

if you check out http://et.splatterladder.com, they have a serverlist where you can filter out servers with bots on them.

click sl.serverlist near the top right of the page, and then the properties tab near the middle.

I usually check this before i play, usually the FA servers are the busiest so i pretty much always wind up playing there, either the recruiting, jaymod or silent servers. :)
