ReaperROS
You know I heard they were going to remake Forbidden Planet, that the writer/producer wanted to stick to the original story line..... I have recently been building my Golden Age of Scifi (1950's) movie collection. Currently I have: The Thing form Another World (1951) The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) When Worlds Collide (1951) The War of the Worlds (1953) This Island Earth (1955) Forbidden Planet (1956) The Blob (1958) It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958) Edited October 26, 2013 by ReaperROS

ReaperROS
Yeah, I strongly considered 2001, and Fifth Element in my top 5, but I like so many different Sci-Fi movies, I also haven't seen alot of current sci-fi movies that I liked..... gibson66
Personally, I'm glad they didn't try to remake the forbidden planet. Nothing ruins a good movie like a poorly thought out remake that took too many liberties. Let classics remain classics.
Icedragon
PrometheusWorld War ZOblivionStargate series (and movie: The ark of truth)In time=DKnow that these are not all real sci-fi. But I like them as they have elements in it that are scientificly not possible yet.

Though while watching "Gravity" I remembered how its possible to make even with tiwce the less characters better movie. Namely "The Moon" was 1 man show. Don´t remember more sci-fi and if I´d try to I´d pollute the list with too many blockbusters.
