Awesome pics Dak, looks like you had a great fishing trip and loaded your freezer in the process. Nice moves. Speaking of fish & moves, I've found a new workplace this last week. I accepted a job at Mavrik Marine in La Conner, WA. I get to head up the whole woodworing department starting 2 weeks from yesterday.

Congrats Soul!  Maybe you can talk those guys into building some offshore sportfishing boats.... seems to be missing from their project list.  Will you be moving the family or is it close enough for you to commute to the shop?

An interesting story about the 2nd photo..... One of the guys hooked into a salmon and as he was bringing it in, a seal grabbed it by the tail(photo taken).  The seal did not have a very good grip on it so after a little tug-of-war, the seal let go to get a better grip. Because we were reeling it in as fast as we could, he was only able to grab it by the tail again.  The second time he let go to regrip, the salmon was close enough to the boat and I jumped to the back of the boat, leaned out and gaffed the fish just as the seal exploded from the water in a last ditch attempt to steal our dinner.  Fishemen 1 Seal 0..... but it doesn't usually turn out that way.  Once a seal latches on, usually end up losing the fish and often a bunch of fishing gear.  Cool experience!

TY, I'm excited about this opportunity. From what I know so far, they are very capable of building what you are talking about. Anything from a 20' fishing boat to 120' Alaska seiners, ferry boats, and the like. They (we) have a large and VERY expensive CNC machine that cuts all the parts. And yes, the shop is only a 30 minute commute from our place!
