This is a Google Fiber network speed test.

So my city had the chance to get Google Fiber but tax payers would have to pay an extra 50$ in taxes a year, they turned it down.

$50 a year is only $4.16 / month. Or  13 cents a day...

 

 

Gigabit + TV: $120/month ($300 construction fee waived)
Gigabit Internet: $70/month ($300 construction fee waived)

 

Just 20mb cable service will run $55-$65/month. It seems to be well worth to upgrade to me.

Yes, but people are stupid, especially people in large numbers.

Oh my god.. Seriously?!?! How could they turn that down? I would pay £50 more per year for that easy (which is $80).. They are crazy!

Hell, I'd even be ok paying the one time $300 construction fee for those speeds. That's absolutely insane. I'd almost never have to buffer on YouTube or my Roku again :D

because they are old and must like to get screwed by the local Internet service providers.
