Just because there is a lot of space isn't proof of other intelligent life. Even if there was, unless they found some amazing technology, they probably can't get here. k!tty Posted February 5, 2014 Author Share Posted February 5, 2014 Keep in mind people that life isn't that easy after all, because you need the right Stuff in order for ''inteligent'' lifeforms even Start evolving in the first place.For example the Earth lies at 1 AU (astronomical unit) from the Sun or approx. 150 million km... Now imagine a distant world orbiting a Sun-like Star at roughly that Same distance !!But... because the metallcity (the abundance of elements heavier than hyrdrogen and helium varies greatly among the Stars) it may for example LACK a Significant amount of ''Carbon, Nirtrogen, Oxygen, etc...) to atleast offer unicellular lifeforms a chance to evolve into multicellular, Since human beings are made up of Carbon and Iron in our blood and more...Another factor Could be if that planet orbits at the Same distance but with an atmosphere 50 times thinner than Earth's and therefore recieving deadly EUV (extreme ultraviolet) radiation...And many more factors. don't think that once we find a planet in the right (habitable zone around a Star) to Always have life like we know it...
