In other words, members. yes i agree that everyone who can should contribute.no doubt about it BUT... silent 40 slots+hc 28 (30)? ok lets say 68 slots 28 silent 20hc1 20hc2 same amounth of slots = money is the same as now about more members and any other kind of adm. the math above also contribute for that....why? Not just people who already play on servers today but new players who would be interested in being part of the community. hard to enjoy a almost always full server ...if u use the filter remove full and empty server from the list...well HC is not there most of the time. 1 Quote

More or less opening another server requires more admins, time from me to maintain back end things and other things. We are sort on admins who can moderate server effectively so all can enjoy. Our admins also would like to enjoy rather then babysitting server 24*7. So opening each new server also puts more work on current admins. I have old belief that never put down all your eggs at one location/server and hence we have 3 different machines powering silent mod servers. silent 1 - US 1 machine HC - gs.com silent 2 - Euro 1 machine Their would be one silent mod based stopwatch server in this week or so. Some said they will donate for it monthly and i have yet to see donation from them. I have that server ready but I am waiting on donation because when I am not playing the game why I should keep paying for server and invest my time in fixing things? Few events in last few weeks changed my mindset little bit. Also saying server is full most of the time is kind of saying I can't watch movies in theater .... Sure private slot is available... so investing 25$/year for your most lovable and enjoyable server is not big deal. 1 Quote

Rename it hardcore 2, and if hardcore is fulled, players will redirect to hardcore 2. SIlent 2 is all bots 90% of the time. Thanks guys I can bet my nuts that if 10 members play on Silent 2 for an hour or so, it will be full the rest of the day. A new server cannot be full just by open it, we need players who play in there, maybe invite our mates. If those events happend, maybe it can be the "new hardcore server" you would like. I am not demotivating you, i just want to point that "behind the scene" in a server, there is many more things that make it run smooth and fun for everyone and, of course, i take time. As DD said before, he needs time (maybe money) to set a server, no matter if it is already opened. Quote
desert0mirage Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Be careful too that you don't end up splitting the Hardcore community. I don't know if there are any stats on how many different IPs get redirected to your Silent server from Hardcore when it is full, but those would be the only people who playing on the second Hardcore server. You would want to make sure there are enough to get decent play going. I really only have trouble getting into the Hardcore server in the evenings (EST) anyways, and that includes me playing during the day on Mondays. When I ran BIW, we had two server CFGs on one of our servers and could manually switch them. Perhaps in the evenings, if an admin sees that Hardcore is full, there could be a second Hardcore CFG on one of the emptier servers that could be switched. This would let you try out having another server and see how it works out before actually making a second server. Just a thought 2 Quote
