Ol Smoke Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Ever wonder how some guys can throw a grenade into a precise area all the time? Practice. So here is how you do it. If you don't have a "Dry Erase" red pen, you can use a red piece of tape. Cut it very small so it doesn't cover up your front sight. First. For this to work you must be on a LAN with another PC running the same version of COD4 that you have. Turn PB off so you can use the same number for this exercise. Second. Bring up your pistol to shooting down the barrel sighting. Attach the tape or paint the red dot just under the very tip of the front sight. This is your center aim point. Works great for hip shooting also. Now select your class and put in extra nades. (On both PCs) Third. On the secondary PC place that guy in a position that you want to hit with a grenade. Like over a building or wall. Now throw nades at that place and watch on the other monitor where they land. Once you can hit him over and over remember the exact spot you are standing, and pickout a reference point to throw at. The red dot will help you do this. I took screenshots of my sighting spot so I could reference them until I could do it easily. Fourth. This is called bank bouncing or bank shot. It comes from billiards. If an enemy is behind a wall or trash can look up and see where you can throw the nade to bank it into his area. The red dot is really needed to do this. This comes in handy for me since my skills as a fast shooter dont exist. Plus...I have never figured out how to jump. Hope that gives you some help and remember...don't use this on me! Quote
Dddrgn Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 hm. So chucking all my nades the second I spawn DOESN'T help me get kills? I seriously do that very often XD. 1 Quote
Jefke Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 hm. So chucking all my nades the second I spawn DOESN'T help me get kills? I seriously do that very often XD. This works perfectly on maps like shipment And I still think that people really take games way too serious But I guess it's a good tip for those people, I will just throw my nade trough the first door/window I see... My way of playing COD: -pew pew gun (p90)/rpg/pistol (m1911 I think it's called) => P90 most unbalanced gun ever, aiming is so overrated. -pump action shotgun/rpg/ pistol=> full auto guns are overrated and I like the pump action more than the semi -hipfiring the .50/rpg/pistol => .50 perfect close range weapon (on none hardcore servers, on hardcore serves this doesn't work that great) There are times I just run around with my pistol not using primary gun at all ^^ I suck balls, but the game in pub servers is too random to speak of skill anyway. Especially when playing 'hardcore' (on proMod it might be different, but never tried that one ^^). 2 Quote
Ol Smoke Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Look guys, the stuff I write on here is for newer players, not pro's like you guys. You have already figured this stuff out. Quote
Jefke Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Look guys, the stuff I write on here is for newer players, not pro's like you guys. You have already figured this stuff out. Euhmmm... I would be considered a noob by those 'pros' But hey, it's a nice post. Personally, I consider it a bit over the top for a game, but I'm sure lot's of people will find a use for it Quote
Guardian Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I use this tactic most of the time: - Try to nade the person hiding - When said above fails, throw a flash/stun in and spam with bullets. - When that also fails, try suicide by rpg, you might kill the guy too - If you don't have rpg, use C4 for suicide attack or place random claymores where you think the enemy is. - And if that fails use knife or cryquit Quote
Ol Smoke Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 I usually stand there like an idiot until he kills me. I think my trigger guard is too small. Quote
Dddrgn Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I'm not saying this isn't a good way to do it, it is probably very good, and I'm nowhere near a "pro" I'm as nooby as nooby can be. Anyway, good guide, should help people. 1 Quote
Dak Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 hm. So chucking all my nades the second I spawn DOESN'T help me get kills? I seriously do that very often XD. Nothing worse than dying with nades still in ur pocket. 1 Quote
Davidjb7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Once you get to MY skill level.... JK No, though really, once you have played this game as long as some of us, you can chuck a nade wherever you want it. One thing that smoke did not mention, is that once you can get accurate, you should try to master the art of "Long Nading" this is somthing that comes with time (And no redtape ) When about to throw a nade, Sprint Jump, and right as you press space (Or a little before) press g and let it rip. Keep trying till you see your nade go far into the distance. Quote
vujanic Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 If you're playing on Beginners, whenever you die, throw a nade from where you spawn to wherever most red dots on the UAV, great for maps like Backlot, Crash, Crossfire etc, easily pick up 2 killls Quote
nl3 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 hm. So chucking all my nades the second I spawn DOESN'T help me get kills? I seriously do that very often XD. That's what I do . Isn't that the best strategy, espescially if you die a lot Quote
