To check if it's your internet (mine was very bad for a couple of weeks, made doing anything frustrating)

Ping a website.

Here is how to Ping

1. From the desktop, click start

2. Select Run

3. In the Run box, type command

4. Click OK

5. The DOS window will pop up. At the C:\WINDOWS> prompt type ping www.name of the site and press enter.

6. You will see some results pass through the screen.

7. It will tell you if there were any packets lost in the transfer (0% loss is what you want to see).

8. It will also tell you the average speed, in milliseconds.

9. To close the DOS window, type exit at the C:\WINDOWS> prompt and press enter.

For continual pinging, hit the space bar after you type the website address. Type "-t" after the space.

Instructions borrowed from the net : )

Isn't that the same as Speedtest.net and pingtest.net lolz

No speedtest.net is different. It doesn't measure the packet loss. Lag = packet loss.

Ping test is great! Also try yor anti virus programs. Maby your firewall is blocking the server conection. Also is this happing to any other PB or other games?

All right after looking into this, this is what i got.

- Whats your internet conection (speed test)

- Whats your Packet loss (ping Test)

- Is you anti-virus/fierwall dissabled

- Run some of the http://www.dslreports.com tools. they can help.

I looked at this

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,13792840

Connection issues typically are caused by one or more ports being blocked by a firewall, router, or even your Internet Service Provider to help maintain security. These ports are the doorways used to send and recieve information between your computer and the server. You must configure your router/firewall to have the game's ports open in order to connect to the servers properly.

The ports for Battlefield 2 are as follows:

UDP ports:

27900

29900

29910

27901

55123

55124

55215

16567

1500-4999

TCP ports:

80

29900

29901

29920

28910

4711
