Website Forums and few other updates

I have been working on forums since past few days and I have added some new things. Here is the quick summary of it.

 

1. IRC is added on forums and you can access it from top menu.

 

Basic commands and info:

2. We have added new subscription system for forums. All the basic forums needs for a player are provided free of charge but if you need increase gallery images, PM storage size, ability to give point to others (which was abused when it was free), blogs, etc. you will have to purchase subscription of add-ons. It will remain active and valid for 1 year.

Anyone who has donated in past will be auto moved to that group and will have all those above benefits. If you like to donate for servers you can always use our donation page.

3. New link section. It can be accessed from here:

Each register user will be able to submit new links with description of that link. Link will be approved once moderators will verify the link and then every register member can see it including guest.

 

IMP NOTE: Don't submit any kind of links linking to warez, adult movies, and illegal downloads, etc. If you will then their account will be banned for ever. We try to help community as far as we can from our busy life, but if you will make us work more by submitting illegal links we will just ban you from forums.

 

4. Award system.

We have finally decided to start new award system. There will be monthly, bi monthly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly awards. Our first awards will be declared before or after 28th Oct 2009.

 

5. New BBcode are added on forums and you guys will be soon able to use it.

 

6. I have also added new 2 drop down options on your profile drop menu:

 

Find post

Find topic

 

It will show all your post and topic.

 

7. 2 months old topic in few sections will be auto closed.

 

 

Future updates that might show up from time to time when I will get time to work on it.

 

1. Inbuilt integration of forums with face book.

2. 1 new skin.

3. Advanced reputation system where user will have to say reason before giving positive / negative points and it will show who has given points.

4. Dual language support. Probably supporting language will be German, Spanish or Dutch.

5. Twitter and YouTube side bars.

6. Donation side bar.

7. Captcha search to avoid search abuse.

That is $15 gets lvl 1 but then what gets 2 ?

 

No idea what personal rank is but no mention of change in display name on your wish, and nothing bout 4 and 5. May want to update this thread maybe or perhaps going to add second list of subscriptions?

The irc works fine for me also, but I am unsure of how to send moar than one line of dialogue at a time :/

could make an fa group lol . buti i think what dare means is something fairly new where you can sort of associate fb and your account here - so for example if you made a stauts change here it would show up on your fb too

Oh ok. I didn't understand that. I understood he'll add link to share something (thread, tuto, etc) on FB. Like many sites do.

It will allows users to sign into our forums using their Facebook login. Basic profile data such as avatar, profile picture, "About Me", and status will be synced to our board from Facebook.

Edit - tried to log in with facebook. seems fine

Facebook integration is added. With Chrome it doesn't work at present.

 

Tested browser:

IE 8

Firefox 3.5.3

 

Let me know with what other browsers it doesn't work.

 

I have also added one OpenID login support. Enjoy!
