+10 to Jokers comment. I didn't hear of him myself until all the jokes online.. I had to ask my girlfriend who he was :-/

So he makes money, good for him. He might not like his style music either, but I'm sure he enjoys the $ he makes. I'd sell dildos to nuns if it'd make me a millionaire. Hmm... that might be a good idea actually...

But none of you whine about sports players... Great.. he can kick a ball. So can a 2 year old. Nobody pays the 2 year old 100 million USD...

As far as bullying goes.. not cool either. It takes balls to admit you were bullied. +1 To Justin if it's actually true, although it might just be a sympathy move for marketing also... But either way, not everyone wants to admit they were the kid that everyone picked on.

I was bullied because I was different in school. I liked cars, didn't like sports, didn't party, and I listened to rock and heavy metal.

I've got a tshirt that I wear to work often, and I think it's a great way to end this post....

Antichrist is wise!

In my case I used to have same problem at elementary school for being a metalhead, but the tables turned at highschool because i grew up some muscles and height (and a little brains too) and became a normal people hunter lol... not violently but I used to defend unpopular and "weird peeps" and bash normal people who abused them. Not a hero there but an angry guy that didn't take shit anymore who showed all those different ones how to strike back.

Cheers everybody.

do the ends justify the means?

Gandhi was technically bullied everyday until he got shot, are we lolling at his ideas? most of us did yes, because it felt almost extremist to acknowledge such a "socialist" idea of pacifism.

according to research, most bullies have low self-esteem, or have family issues meaning they've been abused as well, so they take it out on others as a way of self-medicating themselves, i.e. feeling better about themselves... = power and control (either with themselves or behind on some kind of sadist incentive)

reason i +1'd your post darkfang is because the internet is a easier ''channel'' to bully; 4chan, /b/ and the encyclopaedia dramatica (full of satire) and now that there's cyberbullies and other shit like that, but its mostly our fault, because either we put ourselves out there telling our little sob story, and most people would usually go #coolstorybro, just because the anonymity feels so powerful.

and also on the remark that there is cultural marxists out there (dat kim kardashian and other likeness anyone? and dat ass) but becoming a bully yourself because everyone is, and that its for the lulz, doesnt just make you a a**h****, it f*cks up society as well, might as well with having that nihilist "cronyism'd" mind; live in a basement with your mom without a job trolling the youtube comments because that's the demographics on that.

but advocating for the idea of a nicer world (at the least) tells me that he wants to use his celebrity "status" for good, some kind of philanthropy, sure he might be doing this for more 13-year old chicks to like him on facebook or follow him on twitter, or to BUY MOAR of his shitty beiber beats; but it tells me after reading the article that he wants to contribute to society in a way that deems fit according to what his demographics are. i.e. teens 13-17. thats one big reason why i liked Dddrgn's post-- what are you tryng to prove by bullying him or others?

so you can all troll him on his youtube videos, but you can't really put down how much real impact he has on society, even if he's a chick with d!ck .... lol (i'm an ass, sue me)

Well imo, Gandhi was a bit of a nutty, on the one hand, he was against fascism and Nazism, of which I'm quite sure he hadn't visited Germany to experience first hand in the Nazi era, or not as much as he visited Britain anyway. Yet he happily went along with supporting the Allied war efforts to preserve the democracy that was keeping India under imperialist rule which seemed a little counterproductive.

As to bullying, the reasons does hit the hammer on the head, although there is a very strong childhood case exception I remember very distinctly that doesn't correlate.

As to the article, it feels like a strong propaganda plot

"has revealed that he truly understands the issue--because he's gone through it himself."

being bullied is only one facet of the dice thrown, it hardly makes you a reborn fundamentalist, note the singularisation of "himself", and implies (to me) that there is some glorification or attempt to make him one of us.

Otherwise, there's not much to go on the article, since I think the video is not out yet. Emphasising the bullied to make us pity them hardly makes the bullies' heart melt like butter. And personally, a fair and balanced presentation is the best way of promoting understanding. On the other hand, he benefits from a portfolio lift and another base of fans + royalties (if applicable). How philantrophic.

"Did you realize that in America, [chuckle] over 200,000 students are afraid to go to school because of bullying?"

I'll tell you this, beibers music sucks, but the fact that he was a victim of bullying doesn't. I used to be bullied because I was a ginger, red hair and freckles, and life sucked. People should never be shut down because of how they look or where they fit on the popularity scale, they should be judged on who they are and what they have to offer to the world...Think of it this way, do we ban players based on name and color code, or do we ban them for being straight cheating disrespectful nubs?

Society should never ban anyone based upon their appearance in the world but based upon how that person interacts with people, their work habits, and how much respect they have for others.

This.

I was bullied before for having crooked teeth. It was all through secondary school and also while I was in the scouts. The two guys who would mock me the most, well let's just say karma bit them on the ass hard. I now have perfect teeth, while both of them had to get braces (like me) but still have them since the last few years. I'm just happy that it all stopped because no matter how many times I told a teacher or told someone else, they would just get worse. As Ginger said, noone should be bullied because of the way they look or the way they talk or for whatever reason. We are all the same and this should never change.

none of us are bullyin the guy. its all just jokes. and not just here but ALL the people everywhere who talk about him. someone somewhere has to be the joke. and he just has a bigger butt :P but as to Anti's shirt, i dont laugh at people who are different. everyone is different in a way. besides, im a a 23 y/o black guy who loves to skate (inline) and would rather hang at the skate park all day rather than go to the club. i dont smoke weed. and i dont drink grape kool aid, well, i dont drink kool aid at all :P my favorite drink is water. i play games on a pc and shy away from consoles. and most importantly, i dont have multiple baby mommas. so with that said, im quite different than 'most' black folks. but i dont get laughed at either....except by Joe -_-

and i dont drink grape kool aid, well, i dont drink kool aid at all :P

We all know you dont drink juice or kool aid, its all about the grape drank. Just like Dave Chapelle said. :P lol j/k bro.

Stereotypes are another form of bullying, but like Panini said, its just jokes. As long as someone is not offended by what you are joking about then there is no real harm, but I know a few people that have committed suicide due to bullying because they felt that their teachers, friends, nor their family would or could do anything about it. There is a fine line between jokes and going too far and sometimes you just have to realize that you may not truly know someone because no one likes to reveal their true horrors in life and just want to get over it.

Why is this such a big deal anyway? I would sing like a girl to make millions of dollars too...

Its not about the singing, its about the bullying. The media is just making a big hype over beiber being bullied because he supports the movie. I could care less about the music, I am passionate about the movie and that bullying needs to stop.
