FA#2 flooded?

Few minutes ago I saw a bunch of "El Timbo" names connecting, similar to flooding with fakebots. here's ss

 

 

If an high admin wanna look at logs the exact date is april ‎11, ‎2012, ‏ 9:10 PM

TBS is Trackbase system which is fetching data from players for rating purposes. That is one bot connecting and leaving nonstop and does not cause any harm.

no. it's when they use tools to flood server with fake players i.e bots

Sorry for questions but so when and if these multiple fake players actually do connect to server are there actual bots that come into the game or are they just trying to flood the server and cause a crash?

 

Also Nu had said something to me about this happening and said it can be ppl running multiple ets. So can this also be tje case as well or is it always fake players? Is there a way to tell a difference?

Warn player(s) by PM to "timbo" to disconnect from those slots, if not, kick 4 of 5 of them by slot.

Sometimes it happens to be a bug, or a noob executing ET many times by mistake. Anyway, posting their !fi as trouble players, may help a lot.

 

A known trouble player did it once some time ago. Check on Trouble players section...

They aren't bots that are connecting to be your friend and play some games until real player connect, these connections are there to flood the server, trolls and no life lamers use this when they are pissed at a certain server for

 

1. breaking rules many times because he thinks its fun to do it and then got punished

2. a past, or present hacker got banned and then he got mad and wanted to have some extra fun.

3. pure jealousy

 

I'm not really going to explain this in global topic where everyone can read how this tool works. because then others will get ideas and troll the servers. it happened to my old clan server and it wasn't fun, i had to call the flooder's ISP to case abuse and tell them to cut off his net if he didn't knock it off

It's nothing about opening ets and connecting, because if that happened all of those connections would be connected to server. (No PB anymore) so there is nothing stopping them connecting, these kind of illegal bots are flooding the server and stay in connection status. Plus you can't finger flooders, they aren't actually connecting to the server. you need higher admin with rcon to get the ips. they attack by filling up the server so real players can't connect, that's the whole goal of flooding

That's right, in this case the status is actually CONNECTING. Good point, flooders are different than that guy with lvl 1 at trouble players section. Yeah flooders use this kind of attacks...
