I'm surprised no one has made this post yet, since this movie was such a hit and was so popular. Before you watch it, though, I recommend that you read the books first because they're really instrumental in fully understanding the movie.

Here's the trailer:

I felt that it was amazing, especially given the initial thoughts that the book would never be able to be made into a movie because it was so into Katniss's head. It got an 85% review on Rotten Tomatoes...pretty damn good imo XD

Go watch it! (but read the book first or imma keel you)

Loved the books, loved the movie. I thought they did an amazing job keeping the film so close to the book...and with an even bigger budget for the next three films they're making (The Hunger Games had the third best opening weekend of all time, behind the last Harry Potter and The Dark Knight) the next films should be even more stunning.

My only complaint was the shaky camera work during the action scenes. I understand that it was supposed to portray how fast everything was going through Katniss's head and the craziness of it all, but in my opinion it was too much. I couldn't see much of what was happening and it made me dizzy. But otherwise I loved it! My family did too, even though they all have completely different tastes. I suggest you guys to go see it...even if it's not your type of movie.

The books are always better than the movies. They were short books, but they were good. They made the movies pretty good, I was impressed they usually ruin the books by making them into movies.

Read the books first to get the story and the details, the movie was good to put pictures to the book.

I enjoyed the books a lot! Movie was great and really did the book justice. Can't wait for the next movies :D

liked the movies, and just plowed through the books......

and Peeta is a wimp, nuff said. :/

on the technical side of the movie, i'd nod it for sound, because its the first time in a while where i see the audio/visual experience in the theater literally take you in, made me trip out at times, (that cannon anyone?, startled some people the first time i saw it lol)

and the shaky camera would reflect all the "craziness" of the games, but i also noticed elaborate tone down on the violence to obviously keep it PG-13.

all in all let's see how the other films come out, ill be watching :P

Does listening to the books count. :) I think it followed the book closely but as with all movies from books, just a framework. The details have been lost. It hit a lot of the key moments however.

I read the books about 3 years ago, didn't go see the movie yet?

Did any of the awesome moments go lost somewhere?

I've started with book 1, but can't find the time to keep on reading. I will read the first book before I watch the movie though.

Loved the books and thankfully read them long enough before seeing the movie that I couldn't nitpick anything majorly wrong. Other than some minor things missing, it was an amazing movie and I cannot wait for the next 2.

Points missed that are important, especially if they continue making movies. No district 13. Avoxes not mentioned. Peeta wasn't shown as crazy in love with Katniss. Katniss's friend, Madge gives her the Mockingjay pin. There is a history with the pin. Not just picked up in a shop. Katniss doesn't go deaf when ther is the stockpile explosion (minor detail). Peeta's leg is cut off at the end. Looked pretty good to me in the movie. Food wasn't as important in the movie as in the book. Heck, 10% of the book was talking about food. :) The cave part of the movie was not as involved. And I miss the cat, Buttercup.
