cannot write to hunkusage.dat

Hey, I'm trying to get on some F|A servers and right before I connect to play i disconnect with the following saying

 

"cannot write to hunkusage.dat"

 

If you know how to fix this problem let me know..

According to internet, the solution is to delete every hunkusages.dat in your ET folder (in each mod folder there is one of these) and starting the game again. No idea if it works tho. Also what operating system are you using and which server are you connecting to?

If you're running VISTA or WIN7, make sure you are running ET as an admin... To do so, right click on ET, go to Properties, and under the Compatibility tab, at the bottom, tick the 'Run as Administrator' box. Click Apply/OK and then try.

 

Failing that, try what Saizou suggested

Does it happen only in some specific server? You can try to delete (or move elsewhere) that file (hunkusage.dat) from the mod's folder, and see if it's re-created without problems.

 

At the moment I have no idea about the possible reason... disk full? File permissions?

Also when you have ET installed under C:\Program files\ET writing is prohibited near system files. So you´d have to set security setting so ET has permissions to write.

Thanks all, I will try all of the following.

 

One more thing.. on my other comp I try connecting to ET servers but for this one it keeps me "awaiting challenge... 1-infinity" (until stopped)
