Malokyte Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Basically, making dedicated servers unranked is a massive kick in the balls to pc players, moreso than just putting matchmaking. For one, it actually shows how they compare worth now. They feel that matchmaking, or what's common for consoles, is somehow "better" for leaderboards and the like, meaning they feel it's somehow "better" for a competitive atmosphere. Which is stupid as hell, because the host now has an advantage over every other player, which is definitely not suitable for a competitive situation. They feel that a dedicated server is somehow less worthy of p2p matchmaking for said competitive gaming, which is ridiculous on so many levels, not to mention insulting to the pc community. I can understand making modded dedicated servers unranked, but making it so that normal gameplay is unranked just because its on a dedicated server is just insulting. I'm still looking to see if the competitive scene actually goes to MW3, but after this, it seems highly unlikely now. 4 Quote

Only matchmaking to public games are Ranked (meaning, you have to rank up to unlock weapons to rank on the leaderboards), choosing to play on a Dedicated Server is UnRanked. Meaning unlocks are completely controlled by the Server Admin. They can choose to unlock everything or limit class restrictions to whatever they like to fully customize the experience. You do not have to rank up in Public games to have access to weapons in Dedicated Servers, you have complete control over what is unlocked for you in a Unranked Dedicated Server. Also, probably a noob question, but what's the big deal about unranked servers? Yeah - I understand you don't get to level up and whatnot but that isn't really an issue is it? on MW you pretty get done leveling up after a few days then that's pretty much the end of it... right? If it's a fun game i'm sure it will be fun without unlockables. Quote

ApfelGanja Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Hoping for no deathstreaks because they really piss me off. they do have deathstreaks.Juiced - run faster for a few seconds (4 deaths) Revenge - shows position on mini map of last person who killed you (5 deaths) Final Stand - like last stand but u can use grenades and primaries (4 deaths) martyrdom - drop nade after death (4 deaths) Dead mans hand - fall into last stand but can only use C4 (even if u dont have any equiped - 6 deaths) Hollow point - like stopping power but only works for one kill (5 deaths) Quote
