Hey all..

Seems that my game {COD4} keeps crashing..

I put my FPS on screen and it keeps turning red, and dropping to half of what it normaly is.. which iam thinking is a over heating problem..can that cause the game to crash? Any Idea's? PLS $ THANX

My old laptop use to overheat and do that ( i know it was overheating because one day i put a ice pack under it and i didn't have issues, ps don't try this lol )

HI, Iam running xp pro..i got something called intel desktop utilities.. says my system zone 1 is whats over heating. getting warnings during gameplay.. what is system zone 1? lol processor fan?

Post the screenshot of desktop utilities and someone would be able to say what is it.

well tried to take screenshot.. to no Avail. lol

tho now that you have said that.. I have found where it tells me Exactly in desktop utils.

Says "Processor zone temp. Exceeds Recommended limits"

^^ that will most of the times work. It is actually easier to check if the cooling block gets hot. Basic trick, if you can hold your hand on it without pain, it's less than 55 degrees (celcius :P) and it shouldn't be a problem. In that case the airflow in your PC is bad, or the problem is something else. Otherwise, reapply thermal paste as dare said.

 

 

Btw, the "cpu temperature" as you see it is not something like 127 degrees celcius (1000F or something), right? In that case there's a problem with the measurement, not necessary with the temperature itself. Also, check in the bios if possible, that information is almost always correct (preferably after crash).
