using vent durning game play

Well hello everybody. So I got thinking that I have down loaded vent and havnt used it the first time. what I was wondering how many people use vent durning game play (mostly HC no marty) as a tactical tool. I know that I do alot of type talking but that is just more bs'in wanted to know that if more people are using it as a strategy to play better then I would think about using it.

I have issues with getting my mic to work in Vent for some reason, so I don't really use it anymore. I used to use it all the time years ago, though. My experience would dictate that, most people usually just tend to end up talking to each other. People will always get on just to talk or cause problems. Most times, tactics do not get brought up in the conversations, aside from a "Hey there's a guy over there" or something. Unless it's some kind of league match or competition of some sort. Personally, I loathe playing FPS games while on Vent or any other voice-chat program. I NEEEEDS mah in-game sounds to be clear!

For CoD4, I think there is not a distinction in OpFor/SAS/Marines/Spets, so your enemy could eavesdrop.

 

 

I don't use it, although if someone asks I could fire it up within a few seconds. In CoD4 HC, no-one asks...

Mostly we just use it to brag and gloat. More often then not though we just rage :l

I would probably laugh if people actually used it for hardcore strategy.... I mean vent is really more of a loose laid back area to get to know people in FA. Now... we have had these nights in the past, like in scrim teams, but never in pubs.

I pretty much agree with Duckie; strategizing tactics on a pub server might be a bit of overkill.. . But it can be fun too, used to do it in ET to hold down certain areas and have a good crossfire/cover system set up. But its more a scrim/match tool re: strats; on the casual side, heck yeah, I love hearing ridiculous stories from people on vent, greatly increases the social side of gaming

NOT BY CHOICE! just getting this straight now..I have vent but when i had it working no one wanted to talk with me. Now that my vent doesn't work (for some unknown reason) you all want to talk to me...I give.

I think is different for a COD player and an ET player, personally i prefer don't use it for a single game, i can't hear the vent chat and the footsteps in same time, or only stay focused in game while there's someone in vent talking, maybe just me but i only use vent for scrim.

Ditto. I don't have a headset anymore but I d/l your vent for this very reason. In the MOHAAS tactical clan community Vent, RG Wilco and TS gave us a nice tactical edge for clans and regular guests. Really heightens gameplay. Condisder Theo's suggestion.
