Being Posted January 8, 2011 Share Posted January 8, 2011 Hiya, Some days every game I play my guns jam (click, click, click!). Does this happen to everyone? Is this a built-in feature to make it feel more realistic? If it's random how come it can happen every game? Apart from picking up other guns or having an early night, how can I avoid it. Being Posted January 8, 2011 Author Share Posted January 8, 2011 Thanks Guys, It isn't out of ammo, even if I reload the clicking continues. The animation of the gun looks like it's jamming too, a different side view of the gun, as if I was examining it. Saizou Posted January 8, 2011 Share Posted January 8, 2011 Sometime gun animation gets stuck, so gun looks like its in mid reloading and it just stays that way until you fire a shot. That might be the jamming animation you mentioned but it's only a stuck animation that shouldn't interfere with normal operation. Being Posted January 8, 2011 Author Share Posted January 8, 2011 Hmmm? Nice idea but that isn't what's happening. What usually happens is that it starts off ok then suddenly (when I've got plenty of ammo) the gun clicks when I try to fire. If I fire rapidly, it clicks rapidly and I see the side of the gun jerking as if I'm shaking it. It happens to pistols, machine guns and grenade launchers. If I pick up a dropped gun that fires just fine. Frustratingly, it often happens when an enemy is running towards me and I need to defend myself, all my guns jam and I end up leaping all over the place to avoid being shot! It doesn't seem like a glitch in the game, it feels deliberate and I'm surprised no-one has yet said it happens to them too (I think they will). If all of the above is true, can you take a demo to show us what is happening? Also, what is your ping/lagometer like when this happens? Yes: W:ET, patch 2.6b, usually Jay 1 or 2, ping seldom high, lag bad sometimes but most likely my ISP or bad connection, config standard. No: I haven't run PK3 cleaner, where can I get it? You might want to check out our Recognize your lag topic to do some more testing to make sure it isn't just a network issue. This will rule out communication failures between your client and the server. I would say just go ahead and record an entire match and upload the demo file to tinyupload.com, since it'll end up being too large to upload directly to the forums. I'm still convinced it's actually part of the game, it certainly looks like it. I thought/think I was doing something specific that brought it on, like firing too much so the gun chamber gets too hot. The clicking sound the gun makes is definitely a specific sound and I don't hear it at any other times. I've been playing W:ET for about 8 years, initially on other servers but of all I prefer F|A. I think it happened on the other servers too but it doesn't happen often enough to be definite. I'm convinced that sooner or later someone else is going to say it happens to them too, so if it does please speak up because I'm beginning to think I'm dreaming it, and I don't do things like that! Occasionally when speccing people I'll notice their guns get stuck about halfway through the reload animation, but they're still able to fire correctly. Yes, I'd thought about that too, I'll give it a whirl but and let you know. This only happens every now and again. Timberwolf Posted January 8, 2011 Share Posted January 8, 2011 I have had this happen to me as well I have say 30/60 ammo I shoot off 30 rounds so you will see 0/60 and press R to reload and all you hear is Click click click No lag ping is good You can still move around so as you change weapon to say handgun it clicks aswell knife aswell ..Might be a game clich or clich in your profile ..It happens to once in a blue moon Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
