YDA Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Hello everyone. The Beginner 1/2 and NQ1/2 servers are down. There's no connection. This started and has been going on for two days now. Does anyone know what's causing this? Is something broken? Quote

Aardappel Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I saw you trying to connect but you got an error. Are you on ETLegacy or 2.60? when I had this issue I performed a complete reinstall, also deleted all files in the documents folder, except for my ETkey and silent.dat Quote

DIM Posted January 16 Posted January 16 (edited) sometimes i don't have a connection to the FA servers either, but more often i do. i dont know exactly whose side the problem is coming from, but it's with all the players from Russia, which YDA (and i) are. unfortunately, the problem cannot be solved on our side, except for using VPN, which solves the problem with connecting and downloading maps or server files. i think server hosting is partially blocked in Russia, which explains why players from Russia have not been able to download maps and server files for a little over a year. upd. a topic from last year related to this issue. the problem has not been resolved: Edited January 16 by DIM 1 Quote

Shoresy Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Not sure what happened lately but it’s seeming more and more people are having these issues. as @RNGesus mentioned about the www downloads. make sure both cl_wwwdownload and cl_allowdownload are both set to “1” this happened to me as well and I had to manually go back in and reset my cl_wwwdownload to 1. DyDragon Posted January 16 Posted January 16 I use legacy; if you're on Windows, you have to manually add the legacy exception to the firewall. If you're on Linux, you need to have the latest Ubuntu "Yummy Jellyfish" update. Quote

If your ET client tries to download a PK3 file and it is interrupted for some reason, might leave a *.tmp file in the mod's folder. That will block any further attempt to download the file, at least for ET 2.6b. I am not sure about ETLegacy clients, though. You can check your Jay, Silent and NQ folders and delete or rename any *.tmp files. You can also run a test to see if a server is up for you by starting ET, opening the console and do a /serverstatus nq1.clan-fa.com, for instance. That should show the server's settings and list the players connected. 2 Quote
