Antichrist Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 (edited) Blah.. I wish I saw this sooner.. sorry I worked at a dealership for years, we locked keys in all the time, especially winter when we were moving cars for plowing. Forget about the quick slide a metal hanger inbetween the window/door, pull the rod, and viola! It won't happen. Never did for us. In the future... You can: Go between the window and door, then go UNDER the window, and up into the car, then hope to hit the unlock button. OR my personal favorite, and the easiest IMO, a simple wedge between the roof and the rearmost part of the door. Rubber is best. SOFT wood works in a pinch(pine, for example. if your fingernail dents the wood, then it is SOFT). A crowbar if you don't care about your paint, and worst case scenario, your fingers/hand if you can handle the extreme pain. You should be able to wedge the door open a good 1/4" to 1/2" to get a hanger in there to hit the unlock button. EDIT: In the future, you might want to consider stashing your spare in one of those magnetic hide-a-key boxes. I used one before with good results. Just make sure you're the only person that knows about it. And make sure it's COMPLETELY HIDDEN. You can also give your spare to a trustworthy friend/family member in case this happens again.
