Try creating completely new profile for jaymod, you dont need to delete your current profile.

Go to jaymod main menu -> Profiles -> Create

Hello! Sorry to hear that you are having issues. I edited your post and removed the image you attached because it had your GUID displayed in it :)

I am suspecting that this might be a etkey related issue. First, if you would not mind trying what Bunny mentioned:

Go to jaymod main menu -> Profiles -> Create

If that does not resolve your issue, please try the following:

- Check your etkey located within the etmain folder (This is commonly located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain")

- Verify that your etkey is valid. When you open the file, it should contain a string of alphanumeric characters. If the file is empty, has unusual characters, or doesn’t look like a proper alphanumeric string, it might be corrupted.

- Ensure to backup your current etkey. This way, if you need to restore it later, you won’t lose your current XP.

- If your etkey appears valid, try reconnecting to the server. However, if you still have the same issue, you might need to try deleting the file and reconnecting to the server. We can guide you through that, but having the backup means we can try to restore your previous XP later if needed.

Just be sure not to post a pic of your GUID publicly here , to properly upload it to your profile, you can use these 😄:

From what i think it is a name related issue.

Try this: Open the game then type /name yourname in console and then try to connect to the server.

I now noticed @Dropz answer, You can do what he said or just use the command i gave and i think it should help.

Using /name CMD straight after launching the game will only change the name for the config of the default mod - etmain if 2.60b or legacy if ETL. To actually change name or anything else for the config of the specific mod, you gotta switch to that mod first. You do that either by the main menu -> Mods and choosing the mod from there, or by simply connecting to a server using that specific mod, but I guess the first option is gonna be more useful here. If those are impossible to finish for some reason, there's always editing the .cfg files from the OS side :)

Sorry to hear Stoka.. hope you get it fixed.

After reading this post.. I took a look at my ETKey file....

I also had weird characters in my ETKey and I was also getting the Invalid user information in game, but it was allowing me to continue to play.

Here is what I did to correct...

Make a BACKUP of your existing etkey file... before doing anything.

Your original etkey should be the FIRST 28 Characters .... could be alphanumeric... mine was all numbers.

I just deleted all the junk after the 1st 28 and saved the file as is...

Tested just now and working still, no more error message and luckily my XP restored from yesterday.

... maybe I got lucky.

Hope this helps.

I did also go to www,etkey.net and generate a new key download to see what its syntax was... the new one was all numbers as well.

You may need a new key... in that case you will most likely lose your xp... sorry

Good luck and hurry back...

weird characters in my ETKey

The "original" etkey files downloaded with the original ET installations also had a data-line with 28 decimal digits, followed by Non-Text 'binary' characters.

The etkeys that we get now, either from an "etkey generator", or auto-downloaded from FA servers (Jay, NQ and ETL?) when the server finds no etkey file in ETmain, only have a 28 digit decimal number in them now, with no trailing binary codes.

Something like the line below used to be in the original ETkey files.  It always followed the decimal numbers in the data-line (in the original PunkBuster-source etkeys).

GAc*±nø~@Ie+¯fúgjÁOeÆxlÞInÎr@Ac ·wè

If you still have "original" etkeys, then this is normal.  I think that the PunkBuster module might have generated them, way back then.

If the Binary is leading the decimal numbers then there is a problem!  😄  (I think that perhaps I shall experiment! 😄 🔥 )

Okay, "wiki.archlinux.org" has a section about Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, which also sheds light on this situation

Quote

Originally, PunkBuster client used to create a file known as etkey upon installation. This file is important as it is used to identify players, save player's XP and admin levels. Some servers do not allow players to play without ETKey. However, since EvenBalance ended its PunkBuster support for Enemy Territory, the ETKey is not being generated anymore.

An ETKey can be manually generated by following these steps:

Go to http://etkey.net/ and download an ETKey from there.

I did not find the FA ETKey Generator program, other than the auto-download for missing files.  I just tested that "etkey.net" site and it still works.

And, for ETLegacy:

Quote

Enemy Territory: Legacy

ET:Legacy automatically generates the ETKey and solves the Enemy Territory issues shown below. It can be installed from etlegacyAUR(64-bit) or etlegacy32AUR(32-bit).

Note: The 64 bit version is not compatible with Enemy Territory 2.60b mods.

You should backup your GUID-generating files (etkey, silent.dat, nkey.dat) and hopefully never have to use them to help restore your ET System.  They ARE very useful when installing ET on a new computer. 😄

AH from a comment also remember that I got kicked for having a blank name, when trying to use the nickname-Generator on Jay#1.  You have to leave at least one character in the edit-line while you are creating a new alias there.   I will go try that now and see what happends.

I have gotten that "client providing..." line some times, but was not kicked for it.

Yes i think i was fooling with the nickname generator once and ended up getting kicked and then got this same error message that stoka got, then i just re-did my name and all was sorted.

I scanned through the ET source code a bit for "invalidate", but found no error with that word.

Not sure if I have Jay source now...probably a "fool's errand" anyway 😄

That error-statement should say "invalid", not "invalidate"

ADDED:  I did find the Jaymod code, on github.  I downloaded and will try to scan for "invalidate" in the code modules.
