Hey everyone.  I have been having some issues with my FPS, and I think there is probably an easy solution that I do not know of.  My fps typically bounces around from 45-80, but near airstrikes/grenade blasts etc. it drops lower than that and gets really laggy.   I am using an Acer Nitro 5 laptop, 8 gb of ram, and an Nvidia GTX 1650.   Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

My difference was also with the game's compatibility with computer. 🤔

4x3.0GHz (x5450), DDR2 4x2GB 800Mhzz, GTX 660 2GB, Win 7 64x
In ET2.6b and ET Legacy I had 124-125fps.

4x3.8GHz (i5 6600), DDR4 2x8GB 3333Mhz, GTX 660 2GB, Win 10 64x
In ET2.6b 45-60fps and in the case of ET Legacy 125fps

In my opinion the difference lies in the system. Under Win 10 must have ET Legacy. :)

I've run Windows 10 since v1501- the day it launched. Since then I've run AMD, Intel, and nVidia GPUs across multiple systems. The only thing ET legacy did was swap my mouse upside down.
The performance was equal. And yes, I calculated it down to the millisecond. The ET:L guys are full of crap with their so-called "optimizations".

So let's focus on known fixes, such as:
-multi-threaded optimizations (should be off for et.exe in your nVidia control panel). I've posted about this before, just ask me for a link.
-Checking to make sure you're running 1909 and not 2004. (type Winver into your start menu and press ENTER)
-Also let's make sure you're running the latest drivers...
and finally...
-Let it be known that ET has a bug that reduces performance around smoke. But we can halfway fix that! Could you please post your config?

Thanks!

@Xernicus I went in and turned off threaded optimizations, my winver is 1809, and ill have to do a search to find how to post my config.  Going to go test changes now.
