Mile-long asteroid 1998 OR2 dons 'mask' before Earth flyby

Alright, so a lot of asteroids pass nearby or desintegrated themselves in Earth approach but this one showed some particularity in some photos and will flyby by Earth at a distance of 3.9 million miles (6.3 million kilometers) on April 29. Today on some photos it seems its wearing a "mask" with some imagination:

That first pic looks so strange.  My mind just does not associate astronomy with medical masks at all!  :(
