Starting seeing a couple of different people do this neat trick on Jay2 in the past couple days and was wondering if it was verboten or not.

Somehow a player can adjust certain FPS', go covert-op, and be able to deploy multiple satchel charges on top of each other.

The only way you can do it is by jumping in between each satchel-charge that you drop...

The only thing it's really good for is trick jumping high obstacles, as it seems to be a lot more reliable and predictable than using a team mates grenade to propel you over something.

I'm not very knowledgeable about adjusting things like frames per second, but I hope someone gets the idea here.

Is this allowed? Is this considered hacking?

I am not an expert of jaymod/jaymod bugs, it would be nice to see a demo of someone doing it, I don't know what you mean exactly by 'multiple satchel charges on top of each other'.

Btw, how do you know it is fps-related if you say you don't know much about adjusting frames per second? Did the player tell you? I have seen people using satchels to jump higher, but I've never heard about 'multiple satchels'.

Anyway they would lose hp by doing it, right?

He probably means that you lay down a satchel at a spot, then you press a button ( I used to know which this was, but I forgot) and then you can drop another satchel on top of the other satchel.

It's just a "script" (really only 1 or 2 binded keys) used to manipulate com_maxfps. Dunno if it's frowned upon or not, but here's how it would work:

Script removed^^

Simply jump, change com_maxfps, throw a satchel, change com_maxfps back, and repeat.

It's kinda dumb, in my opinion..

Yeah one player was nice enough to tell me that-that was how he did it, had some binded keys to adjust the FPS.

It's not for the covie to use himself of course, it's like if he wants to launch another player over a wall or something. The dude dropped three satchel charges all on top of one-another, stood back, told me to stand on 'em, and blew the fuse. We did it on Minas and I managed to dynamite three gates before I encountered any opposition at all, lol. I just was not sure about the legality of using satchels like that. I mean....shit....there's another topic on here that says covies can't use SMG's...so I was just trying to get a clear picture on what I can and cannot do.

I think it's not allowed to use that for at least rushing purposes :P

I didn't see it as a rush, as the paladin is the obj. and nobody managed to get it until the last few minutes of the map.

Cool story tho bro...

Covies with smg are different matter since that is a Jaymod related bug. Satchels have almost no practical use, except for stockpiling them and using them in few maps like Minas. Though from PB point of view to pull of that script you have to put com_maxfps out of range allowed by PB for a short while. Overall, not encouraged to say at least.

It is not allowed.
