A vote for rush sounds great. Otherwise our rule of thumb has always been no rushing until ~40% of the map is complete; seems to work well.

Sounds like it is related to your pc accessing et files and not the hardware itself? Did you try the chkdsk? Try deleting your F|A .pk3 files and see if that helps.

128bit is just around the corner. Which is going to force a lot of people to upgrade to 64bit hardware as they will be phasing out 32bit.
