Minecraft What mods do you guys run in game, if you run them?

Modding is generally very easy as long as you know how to move around files, Midnight. Do you have 7-Zip or Winrar? Or something of the like??

I want these things of greatness, but my smallness prevents me........HELP me find the mini-map and other mods. We need a file compression app of some kind? I had a temp version of winzip, now expired, however, my windos seems to know how to compress files (like my demos) on its own already. i just don't know how to utilize it or initialize it, unless it shows as an option when I right click(hover over a file) and it shows as an option.

You have always been able to zip files by right clicking and sending to "zipped file." You need the winzip to see the file if you got it from somewhere. Oh and for the sake of making another topic let's add good texture packs too.  Soul told me one last night but I forgot it.

Heh, I'm a little late in getting back to you guys. You need those programs to open up your minecraft.jar to install the main mod Forge that everything runs off of now. Although with 1.6 forge has an automated installer but mods I still have not figured out since it came out.

Also I find my favorite texture pack is Dokucraft 32X. (cause I like performance over looks in minecraft.)

well, I finally got the mini-map mod, thank you Baska! But it was not an easy thing for me, so I think thats all I'll have for now. I am very curious what those others do though, so anybody want to explain what each mod you use does?

I'll explain.

Rei's Minimap, Has waypoints, shows you the terrain around where you are.

Not Enough Items. An Inventory Editor every item in the game, even items added from mods you can add to your inventory. Also if you mouse over the item and press R it will show you the crafting recipe.

Mo'Creatures Adds a bunch of animals too single player mode, most notably, Horses, Unicorns, and Pegasi which can all be tamed and ridden, (The pegasi flies )

Single Player Commands, Adds a bunch of commands like noclip, fly, give, it's like a console for minecraft. Also It adds everything from Worldedit. Which allows you to mess around with your world.

And Timber. Hit the bottom block on a tree and the rest falls down (Pretty helpful).

 

 

Another mod I used to like is Explosives+ Adds some really awesome explosives I.e one that will get rid of a whole biome. Some Mining TNT a volcano bomb and a bunch of others.

But u cant use nei/tmi on our server because this mod requiers /give cmd that only Joe have

WHAT?! Baska never helps me with minimap, now I'm jelly.  I always tell her when I find diamonds so she can mine them.
