Hello everyone, I am here today to announce the end of the original Oasis. However, this is not a day of mourning but a start of a new beginning, for a new Oasis has been birthed by the infamous @Smileyyy! After the many sleepless nights from the everlasting nightmares I have endured after being forced to play the dreaded Oasis that has plagued this Earth for the past two decades, I have set upon a journey to finally end the suffering so many of us have had to experience throughout our lives. NO MORE I SAY! This new map sparks the dawn of a new golden age! Now, remember this day, the 2nd of May to be the start of true happiness for all of humanity. Finally introducing =F|A= OASIS!! Below is a list of the changes made that address the issues with Oasis which include: - Shifting the focal point of battles to minimize the limitations of chokepoints by adding new routes and passages. - Changing the tone and intensity of the lighting to make it visually pleasing. - Making the whole map more accessible to have a more refreshing gameplay experience. Some visuals: - Allied Spawn. - *New* Sniper's Nest. - First Stage. - Room adjacent to Old City Wall. - Oasis + *New* Allied Forward Spawn (Unlocked by CP). - *New* Command Post and Health/Ammo Cabinets. - Tunnel Exit to Garrison. - *New* Side Entrance. (Destructable Gate) - *New* Interior of Side Entrance. - Side Entrance leading to South AT Gun. - *New* Axis Garrison Spawn Areas. - *New* Ladder to the AT Guns. - *New* Hatch and Pathway connecting AT Guns. A full list of the changes made: Thank you to all who have made this project possible, @CheepHeep - Moral Support, giving input on lighting and many other things. @Dynasty - Giving input on retexturing the garrison. @TheWolfTeam Discord Channel - Helping out with map related questions I had. And many others helping with playtesting the map! Download the map here.

The awkward Overwatch leaks continue, with a leaked poster pointing to a 'Spring 2016' release for Blizzard's colourful squad shooter. If you check out the fine print at the bottom, the game is expected to release "on or before June 21, 2016". That's no surprise really – the game is in beta at the moment – but the poster only serves to raise more questions: what pricing model is Blizzard planning? My guess is that it'll have a base rate, like Counter-Strike, supplemented by in-game transactions. The poster (leaked via NeoGAF) promises a 'Noire Widowmaker Skin' at launch with purchase of a boxed copy, which confirms skins will be available. The poster also confirms PS4 and Xbox One editions. These boxed editions are priced at US$60 according to Andy's report earlier today, and at that price point it's tempting to believe Overwatch won't be free-to-play at all. Alternatively, the game will be free-to-play, and these boxes will come bundled with in-game currency and the client. Again, this is all speculation, and for all we know someone mocked this poster up to troll us all. Whatever the case, we'll find out for sure at Blizzcon, which is happening right about now Source http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-will-release-in-june-2016-leaked-poster-reveals/

The next Call of Duty video game—Black Ops 3—will launch on November 6th, Activision has confirmed—a Friday. Friday is an unusual day for a Call of Duty release. Traditionally, most video games, including the Black Ops games, have released on Tuesdays in North America. “We thought it would be really fun for the fans to kick-off Black Ops 3 on a weekend,” Rob Kostich, Senior Vice President at Activision Publishing told me, explaining the change. “The Black Ops series is the most played in Call of Duty history with nearly 100 million players to date. With Black Ops 3, the team at Treyarch is really taking things to a new level. There’s so much in this game across every mode of play. Campaign has been reimagined and can now be played cooperatively with your friends. Zombies, of course, are back. And multiplayer is bringing a ton of depth and new ideas to the experience. So giving fans as much time as possible out of the gate to experience all the game has to offer just made a lot of sense.” In other words, getting the game out on a Friday let’s players who might have work or school constraints throughout the week, really dive into the game over the weekend. When you think about it, that makes a lot of sense. So why does Activision usually launch games on a Tuesday? For that matter, why does the industry so often release games in the middle of the week instead of when most players can jump in and start playing on a Friday? “Traditionally, here in the States, Tuesday has been a date that has worked really well for our retail partners,” says Kostich. Tuesday is also the day of the week that CDs and DVDs typically hit retail, a somewhat antiquated brick-and-mortar tradition. Of course, video games can trace their Tuesday release roots to Sega’s release of Sonic 2 on the Sega Genesis. That game was the first major global launch of a video game, and Sega’s marketing team called the release “Sonic 2sday” according to the book “Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo, and the Battle That Defined a Generation” by Blake Harris. That was on November 24th, 1992—23 years before the launch of Black Ops 3. Will this mark a new trend of Friday release dates at Activision? Kotisch can’t say for sure. “As a company, we have released on different dates in the past. It really depends on the game and what works best for it. Again, for Black Ops 3, a Friday release to kick-off a weekend celebration was just something we thought our fans would really enjoy.” There’s also a bit of a marketing pun in the Black Ops 3 Friday release. Sonic got Sonic 2sday; Black Ops 3 gets its own Black Ops Friday, a not-so-subtle nod to the craziest shopping day of the year. Read more about the game and watch the first gameplay trailer here.
