And today, they shared a brand new trailer for the title. The trailer shows us a fair bit of footage from the game, as well as introducing us to the game’s co-op mode, and the playable classes. The co-op mode can support up to four players, and there are three different playable classes. The game can be played single player as well, but Housemarque says that it has been designed for a co-op experience, and it is best experienced that way. So, you guys need to go out and make yourselves some friends, then. Alienation launches exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on April 26. You can pre-order it now, and get 10% off. Microsoft on Monday announced the Xbox One Elite Bundle. The console featured in the bundle comes with a new 1 TB solid state hybrid hard drive (more on that later) and the new Elite controller. The package costs $500, and Microsoft describes it as "the ultimate gaming experience." Microsoft has detailed the Xbox One Elite bundle release date and price for the UK; It will sell for £400, and be available from November The new SSHD should be an improvement over the existing hard drive. That's because it "stores frequently accessed files on a solid state partition and optimizes system performance so you can get to the action up to 20 percent faster from energy-saving mode," Microsoft said in a news release. In October 2014, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said improving Xbox One load times was high on his priority list. As previously announced, the Elite Xbox One wireless controller, which also works with PC on Windows 10, features interchangeable paddles and hair trigger locks. It also lets you adjust the trigger minimum and maximum values, thumbstick sensitivity, and button assignments. In short, you can assign any of the controller's 14 different inputs to the ABXY buttons, paddles, D-pad, triggers, and thumbstick clicks The Xbox One Elite bundle launches worldwide in November for $500. In the United States, it will be sold exclusively through GameStop and Microsoft stores for the month of November. The new Elite controller, meanwhile, launches in October and sells for $150 by itself. Finally, Microsoft also announced today a "Lunar White" version of the standard Xbox One controller. It sports all the new refinements, a slick-looking color scheme, and "improved grip texture." In the US, this controller will be sold only at GameStop, where it will cost $65 starting in late September. An earlier version of this story reported that this new Xbox One would load games 20 percent faster. In fact, the console will power up 20 percent faster from the energy-saving mode. Following reports today that it had disabled Xbox One consoles belonging to individuals who broke a testing agreement with the company, Microsoft has denied that it does so for Terms of Use violations. "To be clear, if a console is suspended from Xbox Live for a violation of the Terms of Use, it can still be used offline," a Microsoft spokesperson told. "Microsoft enforcement action does not result in a console becoming unusable." The question then becomes what warrants a console being banned from use online. "Suspensions for both consoles and accounts are determined by looking at a number of factors," the spokesperson continued. "To avoid enforcement action including suspension from the service, users should follow the Xbox Live Terms of Use and Code of Conduct." This statement comes on the heels of a report from Kotaku that Microsoft had "bricked" consoles belonging to people testing the remastered Xbox One version of Gears of War. These individuals were allegedly responsible for the footage that's appeared online from the as-of-yet unannounced game. An email sent out by the company employing these testers, VMC Consulting, indicated that these testers had violated both a non-disclosure agreement and Xbox Live's End User License Agreement. The email said that, as a result of violating Xbox Live's EULA, the offenders' Xbox Live accounts had been permanently banned and their consoles "temporarily blocked." According to the email, this meant their systems were "entirely unusable" until Microsoft decided otherwise. This prompted concerns from Xbox One owners that Microsoft has a killswitch that allows it to completely disable any Xbox One console. Microsoft's statement suggests violating the terms you agree to when using the system will only result in the console being banned from use online. Microsoft did not directly address the bans supposedly handed out to these testers, so it remains to be seen whether their consoles have been rendered unusable offline--something that may have been stipulated by the NDA they are said to have broken. The NDA remains an important wrinkle, as these individuals were subject to rules that ordinary Xbox One owners are not. Source http://www.gamespot.com/

Sony "Nailed It" With PS4 and Deserves "Victory" Over Xbox One, Ex-EA CEO Says Former Electronic Arts CEO and current top boss at Unity Technologies, John Riccitiello, has spoken out to say he thinks Sony "f**king nailed it" with the PlayStation 4 and deserves "victory" in the current console race against Microsoft and its Xbox One. Riccitiello made the comments during the GamesBeat Summit. "There was a clash of ideas that really separated Sony and Microsoft," Riccitiello said, as reported by GamesBeat. "[The Xbox One and PS4] actually had very similar architecture that they were trying to bring to the table. But Microsoft focused … a lot on entertainment beyond gaming. Microsoft was trying to [compete against] Apple. They didn't feel gaming was big enough to justify the pent-up desire … to have the recognition they wanted as an innovator." Riccitiello added that Sony, meanwhile, took a "gamer-first" approach with the PS4--something he says paid off. Microsoft's attempt to reach a broader market with its Xbox One TV integration was not necessarily an ill-advised move, but Riccitiello said Microsoft's "unfocused execution" was its downfall. He used a billiards analogy to sum up the differences, in his mind, between Microsoft and Sony. "Sony just said, 'We've made the best f**king game system we could' … partly because they didn't have the resources to do more about it," Riccitiello said. “Microsoft was focused on the shot after the one they needed to make, putting the 7-ball in the corner pocket, but they missed the first shot and didn't get another shot after it." "Sony focused on the shot they needed to make, which was win the hearts and minds of the gamer. The broader scope of entertainment might be a bigger idea, but not with an unfocused execution," he added. "A tight execution on the 50 million people that matter, which are the people currently lapping up consoles … Sony f**king nailed it, and they deserve the victory." With more than 22.3 million PS4s sold, Sony's new console is the current leader of the new-generation console race. But as Microsoft has stressed time and again, the sales race is a marathon, not a sprint. Source: Gamespot http://www.gamespot.com/

Judge tosses out a class-action lawsuit related to PlayStation 4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall. Last summer, a man launched a class-action lawsuit against Sony Computer Entertainment, alleging that the company misled consumers by claiming Killzone: Shadow Fall's multiplayer mode featured 1080p graphics. He was looking to recover damages for the group to the tune of $5 million. Now, according to Courthouse News, a judge has dismissed the case "with prejudice," which basically means permanently. The publication notes that settlement terms were not disclosed. Neither side has weighed in with a statement on the dismissal of the case. The suit was originally filed in August 2014 by a man named Douglas Ladore in U.S. District Court in California. He claimed that gamers "quickly noticed and complained that Killzone's multiplayer graphics were blurry to the point of distraction." This is despite Sony having claimed the game would offer "1080p multiplayer graphics, a crowning achievement in the video game industry," and having even featured the 1080p figure on the game's box. In addition to the $5 million in damages, Ladore sought to prevent Sony from continuing to advertise Shadow Fall as running in 1080p. The game's PlayStation Store product page does not mention 1080p as one of the game's selling points, though it's unclear if it ever did. A Digital Foundry report from March 2014 revealed that Shadow Fall uses a technique called temporal reprojection to achieve its resolution. The lawsuit said this is meant to provide "'subjectively similar' results" to full 1080p, but that it isn't the same. For its part, Shadow Fall developer Guerrilla Games acknowledged that it used the temporal reprojection method to combine pixels and motion vectors from multiple lower-resolution frames as a means to reconstruct a full 1080p image. ps 4 Which next gen console are you planning to get?
Corey posted a topic in Console & Mobile Gaming
So... we are 2 months away from the new consoles coming out. I haven't owned a playstation since the very first one that came out and have owned multiple nintendo/microsoft consoles since then. Besides paying for xbox live service for the xbox 360 I have nothing to complain about from microsoft. From what I heard, the xbox live service is better than the free internet service playstation gets (can anyone verify this from previous experience? ) I am kinda leaning towards the ps4... some of my friends are getting it and I love that I do not have to pay for the online experience. What is everyone else planning to get? Also, leave a reason as to why you are getting that system Thanks!
