Thanks guys, I got the right driver now. Unfortunately the lag isn't gone. When I'm in the menu there's no more lag, I can move my cursor around without it being all slow. If I try to play at a server running silent mod, it's very slow again and I get around 10-20fps. When I join the stopwatch etpro server, I get a solid 125fps. What could cause this? Edit: Now it's just spiking which makes it unplayable, constantly jumping from 80 to 10, to 80 to 10 etc.

So I installed the MA-config and got a summary of my laptop's specifications. Now what?

I changed the settings which you advised me and it speeded up ET but it was still slow. So I indeed downloaded SlimDrivers and noticed my driver was outdated, and I installed the newest one. However I was getting the 'cannot load openGL' or whatever error. I Googled the problem and most people advised reinstalling the graphics driver. So I uninstalled the driver again and wanted to redownload but couldn't find it. SlimDriver doesn't suggest it now either. I'll try the MA-Config. Nope, it's not the 4xxx series. This is so goddamn annoying, lol.

I'm about to kill myself. I've been trying to get ET to work all day long. If I have the correct driver, I think I can run it. My graphics card is an 'AMD Radeon A8-4500M HD Graphics'. So I go to the AMD website where I can download drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download Select the type of system: Notebook Graphics Select the product family: Radeon HD Select your product: which one do I choose here? My graphics card is not in the list. Is it Mobility Radeon HD 4xxx series? I think I've tried that one and it didn't work. Thanks.

Hey guys, After quite a long break I'm eager to play some ET again. I had to install it again and am facing two problems: 1. The game is not full screen, see screenshot below. How do I fix this? 2. The game itself is incredibly slow. Just in the menu my cursor moves around really slow. This could be a problem with my laptop, but all my drivers are up to date. This problem occurred when I did a Windows 8 "refresh", I reinstalled windows 8 while keeping all my files. Since then ET no longer worked properly, at the time I wasn't really bothered with it and just decided not to play. Anyone have an idea what the problem could be? I'm running Windows 8, 64bit, screen resolution is 1366x768. Thanks.

Lol, thanks for the replies. I forgot to mention it's a laptop, Samsung NP355V5C, and it happens on multiple keys so not just the W or capslock. I've only had it for half a year so the keys are fine I guess. I checked sticky keys and it's disabled but I guess it has to be a setting like that which causes this to happen.

Occasionally when playing ET my keyboard 'messes up', not sure how to describe it. When I press W too often, for example, it seems to stays locked on W (not literally the key on my keyboard) and I keep running even though I'm no longer pressing the key. This happens quite often and it's really annoying. I'm sure it's a particular setting but no idea which, I'm running Windows 8. Any suggestions? Thanks

I'd like to play for team NL. However, I don't think this is possible.. maybe on the stopwatch server. Because there will always be more players in the server and we can't just kick them. Also team Italy or team Netherlands could be better skilled and therefore stack the teams (if you arrange this beforehand that it's country vs country then it's not a problem, but it's not fair for the other players in server). You also have to contact all of those players in order to arrange it. If you succeed, however, I'd like to play.

What's up guys, Not sure whether or not this is the right place to ask, perhaps 'Internet, Network & Security' would've been better although I don't think it's an internet problem. Anyways, I recently bought a new laptop, a Samsung NP355V5C to be exact, and am since experiencing lag on ET. My ping just keeps spiking up and down and I constantly see 'connection interrupted'. Now with my old laptop, which was a piece of shit and is a lot slower than this one, I never experienced lag so I doubt it's an internet/router problem. Antichrist suggested to unbox "turn this device off to save power" in my adapter settings which seemed to work, until I started lagging again. It could be a simple setting within ET or just on my laptop, I don't know. I've only changed maxpackets on ET and didn't save my config, so perhaps I forgot some settings. Any help is appreciated. This, and I have to further explain the point I am about to make. First of all it is incredibly sad what happened in Boston, no doubt about it. But people don't seem to realize that bombings like this are daily business in countries such as Iraq, Syria or Palestine. Where are the prayers for those innocent peoples? When do we mourn their lives? We are drone bombing innocent people on a daily basis. We (as in America and its allies involved in the war) have killed over 1,700,000 innocent Iraqis and 10,000's innocent Afghan civilians. And now our "leaders" are shoving another war with Iran down our throat. When does the mayhem stop and when do people start waking up to the crimes commited by US? It's so sad how people only seem to care about Americans or Europeans dying. We're not the only people on this planet.

Hello everyone, I occasionally play on the Silent and Hardcore servers, and have seen quite some problems lately with players stacking on the Silent server. Yesterday it was this bad: I noticed at least (there were more) 'latent' and 'El t0rr0' (ironically enough a "friend" of mine, who is also from The Netherlands) purposely stacking the teams. Glyphz was AFK the entire time and I'm not sure about Terry because he left soon after, but at least JEDI dindn't do anything about it (not trying to make him look bad/get him into trouble, just saying). Fortunately Pyro went to Allies soon after, but the teams were stacked like this for at least 2 hours I think. I have lvl 4 admin myself so I can warn/kick, but since I'm not a member/"real" admin, I want to be very careful with using it. Pyro left the next map and the teams were shuffled, and latent again stacked the teams. I told him earlier it's not allowed and we should try to keep the game fun for everyone, and he just mocked me and said "I love stacking the teams". This time I warned him twice to stop stacking and move to the other team, and he left. So I'd like to ask the admins on Silent to try and keep a better eye out, as will I. I'm just not sure what to do when I join the server and the teams are heavily stacked (meaning I don't know who started stacking). I can't !putteam, so what should I do in this situation if nobody switches when I ask? I can't just warn/kick people for not moving, right? Thanks.

This map is a lot of fun around the holidays so I'd like to see it on the Silent+Hardcore servers, and possibly others but I only play on Silent+HC and am not sure if there's a demand for on the other servers. I've asked around a bit on Silent and muliple people told me they'd like to see it.

What's up everyone, I apologize if this is the wrong place, not sure where to put it. I'd like to see northpole added to the Silent server and maybe the Hardcore server. It's made for the holidays/Christmas times and it's a lot of fun. Maybe other servers want it added too, but I only play on Silent and Hardcore so... ya. I definitely understand what you guys are saying, and shuffle can indeed be abused. This problem can be solved with !putteam, but I actually only see this happening when teams are uneven in numbers. Of course the teams can never really be a 100% even, but I do think that admins should put more effort into evening them via !putteam when teams are just too uneven in skill. I do agree with LadyKris, for example: I am 100% certain the admins I mentioned (Yatzi and Mike Hunt) are perfectly capable of being trusted with the !shuffle command. And if an admin abuses it, it'll get noticed quickly and appropiate action can be taken. !putteam can solve this problem, but I'd like to see admins use it when it is necessary. I think it scares quite some new players off when they get totally raped... and it's just not fun being in a (badly) losing team. Other than that, I think the admins are doing a good job and I enjoy playing in your servers.

Sup guys, It seems kind of weird to me how some admins are able to ban players, but are not able to shuffle teams? A couple of minutes ago I was playing on the Hardcore server, when teams were very uneven.. I asked Mike Hunt if he could shuffle next map, but he told me he couldn't. I asked him how long he's been in FA, and he told me one year.. Shouldn't a one year member/admin be allowed to shuffle? I've experienced this earlier when playing with Yatzi and it was quite annoying that he couldn't shuffle.. having the power to ban players seems way more likely to be abused, than shuffling teams right? I think if you have the power to ban a player, you should also be able to shuffle teams. Let me know what you guys think, Thanks.

I'm actually happy that we have the original Gold Rush and Oasis on the Hardcore server.. I think they're a lot better than the modded versions, but that's my opinion. And ofcourse that pic shows unfair teams, but those are the teams, not the map.. No one is ever willing to even the teams. Except for shuffling at the beginning of a map, ofcourse.

What's up guys, After a couple of weeks not seeing him ingame, I just talked to a friend of mine on xfire (I'm never on) who told me he got banned from all FA servers and even from the forums for "hacking". He's a very good player so I can understand why he is falsely accused, his ingame name is ^7Silva ^1* and he's a friend of Evolution * which is also a very good player whom is also supposedly accused of hacking. Silva told me he had no chance of defending himself whatsoever and that it was the clan leader who banned him and who even refused to give (non-existing) proof to other FA members of Silva cheating. Could I get an explanation on this? Thanks

What's up guys, My name's Dylan and I'm 20 years old. I've lived in the Netherlands my entire life but moved to Phoenix, AZ about a year ago (I'm half American/half Dutch). I've played ET for a couple years back in the days ('04-'06 I think), and am back since 2 weeks. I'm too lazy at the moment to think of a name so am sticking to 'jhvh' (Jehova) for now until I think of something better. (is it possible to change my forrum name later?) I enjoy playing on the Silent and Hardcore servers so.. might aswell join the community. Sometimes I'm good (high), sometimes I suck (drunk) or sometimes just average.. (sober) lol That's about it I guess..
