Hi. Read some of the recent threads here and decided to post this.

 

Warning, wall of personal rant incoming. Wrote most of it just for myself to get it out of the system but as a Pro* admin, I'm also trying to save, even if just a little, the seemingly dying reputation of Pro* in FA.

 

Yesterday in FA1, I joined allies at the start of Gold Rush but was shuffled to axis. After a few minutes, I changed my name to "nab" and rejoined allies. =F|A=Tipsy then called me a stacker and put me to spec. He did nothing wrong so I'm not here to complain but to explain.

 

About the current situation - I really despise axis. No, my grandparents did not die in Auschwitz. But of my 7 years of ET life, I've played 95% of the maps in allies. I know the layouts, I'm used to shooting the black shirts, I aim better with Thompson etc and for all those reasons, my scores and overall playing experience are much worse in axis.

 

I am also a supporter of fair gaming and would not set my experience over others' so I don't use fake names and waiting and spec-jumping and whatever other tricks to get myself to the better team. Frankly, could not give less shit about which team is stronger – more opponents=more kills for me. But when I'm forced into axis, I'd rather stay in spec. Sometimes though, the server is full or I just get very bored, so I rename myself and go fool around while waiting for the map to end. By definition it's stacking but by essence, me fooling around getting maybe 10-20 kills per map is not going to make any axis player feel worse or suppressed or "unfair". If anything, they feel better because I'm an easy kill.

 

A lot of you will probably think along the lines of "stfu with your scores, rater noob, get a life and play for fun" but for me, rating is fun and as I'm not much of a chatter, it's about the only reason I play this 7 year old extremely repetitive game. Whenever I'm not rating, I'm not enjoying the game. When the teams are shuffled, I lose 30 minutes, when I'm !putteamed, I lose 30 minutes. When the map is reset, I lose 30 minutes.

 

Now, often I find time between work, other activities, work, school and work to play only one map every few days and I hope you can imagine how I feel when I finally find that one hour, get ready to play, crunch my wrists and neck, then wait 20 mins for the previous map to end and finally join allies only to be shuffled into axis on the last second of warmup. And then being called a stacker in front of everyone is the final slap in the face.

 

Statistically axis should be weaker only 50% of the time. So if I'm always allies, 50% of the time, I should be in the weaker team. But for some reason, that's not the case.

 

Switching teams in the middle of a map ruins the map for me. That's why I've started joining the worse team at the start of every map to avoid getting switched, even if it means playing axis. But I've noticed since yesterday (and also many times in the past), that often the team I join ends up, some minutes into the map, with more people and again, I'm being looked at as a egoistic stacker.

 

Also, often shuffles don't improve the teams but make them very imbalanced. And since shuffles are often done at the last second of warmup (don't know why - to prevent team switching?), there is no time left to do a second shuffle to balance.

 

The bottom line:

 

I don't care about playing in the stronger team, I like allies, hence my behaviour in the past.

 

Whenever you might have seen me change my name, I wasn't doing it to stack. I get no enjoyment out of the game with a fake name, just waiting for the map to end. But OK, I'll stop doing that.

 

Feel free to ask me to switch any time and I will switch. But I'd prefer you do it at the start of the map.

Just a little flashback , I shuffled the teams 3-4 days back on jay1 on map oasis , you were shuffled into axis and you made this statement = " This gonna be a long 30 mins. map " . Reason : after my shuffle axis got stronger and on oasis its mostly game remains in hands of axis , so should you be blame for enjoying playing in axis team coz axis team was strong and map was in favor of axis ? you played that whole map as axis and got good kills too

 

Anyways let me come to point : My english is not much good , so I will try my best to clear you again , what I tried on server

 

 

1)Don't change teams after I shuffle : I don't have disease of shuffling or admin whoring , before I shuffle I think twice and looks at teams , then only I go for shuffle. and I really don't like players changing teams back or join spec to wait and find slot in their fav. teams.

 

 

2)It's a utter non-sense to say I only play as axis or I only play as allies , you are in game to aim and shoot , you can do it from both teams and as question of fav. weapon thomson.. you can always get it from killing an allies player and vise versa.

 

 

3)I demoted my own clan members for telling me they likes to play in a particular team , rules are same for everybody .

 

and yea you might be not stacking for rating , but joining a team you were not into after shuffle... is a stacking . If you wanted you might have just changed your name and stayed in axis and have enjoyed shooting , but you choose to join spec and waited for free slot to join up allies , which surprised me really .

And last thing, I didn't knew you were killing axis or was fooling around , I was not stalking on you , I just saw you in axis after shuffle and after few mins. in allies , thats why I told you not to stack and putted you in spec.

1. These are not rating server these are fun servers.

2. We have a rule against stacked teams on all servers, and not only stacked numberwise but skillwise as well yet most people including yourself dont respect it. I 've seen it hundreds of times.

3. I really don't care how long you waited for your favorite map and what your favorite team is. I switch teams 3-4 times a map to make teams fair for everyone.

4. I used to spam to even teams but I finally have grown tired of asking and everyone ignoring it. I just !putteam now, if you dont like it stay in spec or leave, if you try to join the other team from spec you will find yourself in spec again and if you repeat this type of behavior you might get a bit of off time from the server.

5. And 99 percent of people that rate would have a rate of 16 if they didn't change their name on most of the maps.

About that, I said "It's gonna be a long 30 mins" in the sense that "Noone is going to enjoy this bottleneck clusterf-k" and I stick by my opinion because Oasis with 50 players is just that - a bottleneck clusterfark. I played that map as axis because I wanted rating and you put me in axis. I've never changed teams after shuffle to rate on the other side.

Often when I have time to play only one map, I go to spec after a shuffle and work or do other stuff until the next map starts. I don't think that's against any rules. I admit, there have been some times when I've had nothing better to do and I've fooled around in the wrong team. I'm sorry and I'll stop doing that. But there are also times when I go to spec, do other stuff for 15 minutes, come back and join the team that has less players. It looks like I'm waiting in spec but actually I've already left the computer.

It's entirely personal and preferential. I'm in the kitchen, I can eat different foods but I prefer oranges to apples. But as I said, now I always join the weaker team and you can always switch me.

Rating=fun to many people. There is no difference between rating and fun servers. Raters only rate on fun servers, they can't do it in ETPro.

 

Yet most people including yourself dont respect it.

 

That's the reason I posted in the first place, to improve your opinion of me.

If I had to do that, I couldn't rate and wouldn't play ET. Just trying to help you understand the mindset of a rater.

 

And 99 percent of people that rate would have a rate of 16 if they didn't change their name on most of the maps.

 

I agree, if I played 10-20 maps a day, I would probably have low rating too. But that's the difference... for me there isn't "most of the maps". Instead of changing my name when I don't feel like rating anymore, I just leave. The times I play a whole map with a fun name are very rare.

 

Please don't take my responses the wrong way. I'm not a fan of arguing on the Internet... or arguing at all.

 

Bottom line - point of my posts -

 

Apologising for the times I've seemed disrespectful of the rules and explaining the reason behind it - what goes on in my mind as a rater. Tell me any time you think teams are bad and I'll do my best.

 

PS. yo-yo, stressing again that please don't take it as an attack. You did nothing wrong, I don't doubt your admin skills. I'm apologising for what I did.

I am sorry to say this but you just make yourself look like an ass even more with that reply, myself or anyone on the forums or servers doesnt really care what a rater thinks. 90 percent of us play for fun and honestly 10 percent of you raters are the problem. If your score sux you go spec or quit most of the time and create imbalance in teams. Then your buddy connects and bitches how teams sux and how admins are shit etc etc etc. How far do you honestly think anyone would tolerate that behavior. To us you guys are a joke, or should I say spectacle. This is nothing against you, this is what most of us think. We have few people in F|A that rate and they do it fair, they will move when teams are stacked they wont whine when they are moved. So instead of telling me how you play 95 percent of the time on one team maybe you should look at a bigger picture, maybe you would rate better if you were a better teamplayer, they are 4 F|A members with higher rating then you, so clearly you are going about this the wrong way.

First, I don't ever whine/complain/badmouth anyone, I'm a very quiet player. Every time I'm !putteamed (can count those times on one hand), I stay and play. When I'm shuffled and don't feel like playing, I go to spec and join again next map - it's not super altruistic teamplayery behaviour but it's not against any rules. I don't have a problem and don't want to create a problem. I just want you to know that although I don't generally move in the middle of the map when teams are stacked, you can always ask me to move or just move me without any resulting whining. Not going to comment on your last sentence.

 

I came here because yesterday I was suddenly genuinely surprised (believe it) to get the feeling that I have a bad reputation. I thought about it, found some reasons and came to explain, say I'll be better and maybe find about others that I didn't know about.

 

But now I understand you just don't care and I've failed.

n3kron is a nice guy joe - yoyo, i think u guys read this as an attack or something, he was just trying to make a point , very friendly.

I dunno if u guys think pro* are a joke or smth , lol i dont care i mean i get it all day, being called nab and stuff, for me rating is also fun, its sort of a competitive way to play for me and gives me fun, i also have fun playing etpro and i also have fun messing arround with random guns when i am not rating. And well yeh some ppl prefer to play in one team anmd get bored in the other, why? who knows, i prefer my self to play in axis...80% times. and if i dont remember wrong some of the FA members who rate I THINK, were in pro* or some rate clan before. wearing our tag doesnt make us a joke or evil or team stackers automatically guys come on,m i just ask a little "respect" there for our clan as we do respect urs. cya

Now about axis, allies thing , its true there shouldnt be any difference , normally skills should be the same , thats all in head .. different weapons/clothes/ color /noise , but well obvioulsly its not the case ... even myself i prefer thompson ..

i dont care which side i play , if ive my thompson ..

 

Just would be nice if dont look only players with tag .. its not 1 or 2 ppl join allies or axis with 50 players on server ,who will make a difference and stack teams ..

On others server there is always a problem ... there are some ppl better than others just accept it .. its like in life there is always something smartter than you .. deal with it.

 

we do play like that since a year and some months we never had a problem about .. teams stacking or anything else , but since a moment problems happens more and more wihtout any reasons ..

looks more and more like others servers . ( my opinion)

You might get an impression that only Pro gets moved but I can post many examples of ppl stacking teams, for example Dirty Bastard (he is the first person I move) Motorbreath (only way I made him play fair is by saying that he will get banned), grizzly used to play only axis (until I explained the rule to him) and many many others. When was the last time I moved a Pro* member jeez I can't even remember, torm usually switches teams when teams get a bit unfair so no complaints there, n3kron usually plays map or 2 and leaves so no I dont feel we single out anyone or any clan in particular. But I hold tab almost all the time so I know who is doing what. I even kicked out one F|A today because they didn't do shit as admin but stack teams.

i used to have that impression that only me got looked at when teams are unfair, but it REALLY depends mate, some admins as you look at every one and not only Pro* tag, btu some admins just look at me when a team is unfair like it was automatically my fault or smth lol, altought i reall couldnt care less to change team, cuz in the end , the harder it is the better for me to get a challenge, but i just like being asked first before some1 just randomly moves me with putteam command, it might sound stupid but the only reason i dont like getting moved is cuz i spawn with a SINGLE pistol and that shit really gets on my nerves, and i have to go limbo and fix it, so when admins asks is better

 

anyways not every1 likes to be changed on half map cuz well ppl is like that and lets all have patience with all our attitudes and have fun

I don`t know if we can do anything about favourite teams/shuffle. Rule ""do not change teams after shuffle" came out because of mass joining allies after shuff if i remember right.

 

Maby in my head somethimes I expect from Pro* players to even teams despite it is not their duty in general, but it is because:

1. You are server regulars,

2. You guys can fight against 3-4 and more. So I mean if one of you move to other team then problem can be solved faster instead of talking to kids to even teams.

 

And ye...I prefer Mp40 but mostly I don`t care about that.

100% disagree ,

 

1) Willo got demoted from lvl 7 trial to lvl 6 a temp. clan member for repeatedly stacking in allies and telling me he likes to play only as allies , its over 2 months and he is still a lvl6 member.

 

 

2)Motorbreath got demoted from lvl3 admin to lvl 0 and got 2 days ban for repeatedly stacking in allies , even after asking , putting and kicking him 500 times

 

 

3)Joe proposed a demotion of another clan member who just want to play as axis , its in pvt section so can't disclose name.

 

 

My point.. rules are same for everyone .

Ok, I didn't come to complain. I know rules are for everyone. I'll start playing more axis from now.

 

I didn't have a problem with you moving me but now I have one with you not moving me. Of course it has been comfortable not being moved all the time, but if it means I'm looked at as a stacker, I'd rather you message me to move or move me whenever you want. So please, feel free to do it! I'd rather switch teams myself, having time to prepare for it, than be shuffled on the last second of warmup. Also, if moving me can prevent a shuffle for everyone, it's all for the better!

hehe yeah when teams arent okay , and if players dont notice that , please ask it politely , thats all and ppl at least me ; dont have problem by switching and i do that a lot.. it should be the same for everyone.

 

in general ppl dont use tab often .. ppl who really play , concentrated .. thats why most ppl dont even see teams are f***ed up .
