Symfony
Just bought a 15" mid 2012 macbook pro for $750. CPU: i7 Quad Core @2.2 RAM: 16GB Storage: 250GB Pro SSD Graphics is Intel 4000 series with 1GB of dedicated RAM Opinions? I'll be using it for work and maybe some graphic design. Thinking about getting some of the docks I've seen advertised for them. Edited May 16, 2017 by Symfony

Entanglement
not a fan a macs as they don't offer enough performance for the money you're paying, i would build a hakintosh if i were you, but hey that's just me i'm sure you need that potability.

Symfony
Are you kidding, that cpu cannot even handle 8Gb if ram Yes it can edit: get a bigger ssd looked it up 16 gb here too. working fine since 4 years and using it sometimes whole night for music software. I have a few more SSDs, I probably won't need much more space but in the event I do I may replace the DVD drive with a hard drive.

I wouldn't have bought it retail. I got it on ebay and it will last for long enough I'm sure. My 2008 macbook is still going strong and it has a core 2 duo and a hacked 8gb ram I'll mostly be using it for development.
Symfony
Laptop works great so far. Came with Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB which I wasn't expecting, very fast. i7 has 8 logical cores and the 16gb ram is native and required no bios hacks
