Sgt Assault Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 so for the last few weeks (maybe months) ive been working on joining the U.S military. partially why i havent been on near as much lately. with any luck ill be receiving the last bit of paperwork needed to continue my recruiting process. if all goes well and i do join im not sure when ill be on or if ill have the time to really get on like i used to. Im debating on retiring my tags and hopefully staying around as a clan friend or however that works. although im not entirely sure which route to take on that. i definitely have a few more weeks if not a few months before i go anywhere but i thought id let the clan know anyways. I know we have some military members here however i plan to focus 150% of my time on my service and in enhancing my career path while in the service. If anyone has served or is serving whats your favorite part about your service to whichever country's military your from? 5 Quote
Haruhi Suzumiya Posted May 1, 2017 Posted May 1, 2017 What branch are you trying to join? I was in the United States Army as a 25U / Signal Support Systems Specialist. The best part was basic training. Seriously, it's a blast. You're kept busy through AIT for how ever long it lasts, but you get your weekends "mostly" free during that time. After that it's really just like a 9 to 5. What I'm trying to say is you'll have all sorts of time to game or do w/e floats your goat. I spent my days gaming or making use of the almost free on post garage to work on my car. Tips: 1-You're going to bent over by Uncle Same for a really long time. If your able to laugh anything and everything off, then it's really not that bad. Some can't do this... you'll meet a lot of those people. They'll make it obvious. 2-Make use of all the benefits they're going to offer you. Ex. Schooling. Some of the cool stuff you really have to dig or ask around to even know it exists. 3-Don't get stationed at FT.Bliss. It's a stupid name for that base and I don't know why they chose it. A little more on that... If you want to travel to cool places don't join the Army. Good luck man. You won't regret your decision to join. 2 Quote

Leader RedBaird Posted May 1, 2017 Leader Posted May 1, 2017 Sergeant, you do not have to "hang up your tags". We can take time off from the clan. The exception is for the Management levels, whose jobs have to be filled if the member will be gone too long. I was 11B2P, Infantry Paratrooper. 1 Quote
