von Rantala Posted March 13, 2017 Author Posted March 13, 2017 My favorite Finnish movie, Täällä Pohjan Tähden alla osa 1 and 2. (Under the North star part 1 and 2) Watched first time in 2010 and after that watched movie about 15-20 time. Watch movies usually one to two time in year. Its re-make of one of most known finnish movie from 1968. This is movie what all finnish ppls should see. Its tell about our history from time when we was still under Soviet Union from our independency and our civil war and Talvisota/Winter war, and Jatkosota/Continuation war. Its tell a lot of Finnish history. I just love this movie, i try to keep 3-4 month break before watching these movies again so i can enjoy watching them more. But usually i am too eager to watch my favorite movies and cant wait long times and they are still ofc great movies and experience to watch them. Quote
Dingus Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Have you see Mickey Rourke in Wrestler 2008. I think it his best movie, i like Rourke a lot too, one of my fav actors. Mickey got totally screwed over by Sean Penn at the Oscars. The Wrestler is a dark gritty movie telling the tale that what we do today, impacts what we are tomorrow. I've watched several times and it's as riveting as ever each time. I can't say that about any Sean Penn movie, especially Milk. Hollywood gave it to him and it was blatant. 1 Quote
Dingus Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Do NOT watch the US version of this wonderfully crafted, dazzling cinematography treat. If you do or have, you were robbed. It cheapens everything this movie is. It's yet another stake to the heart of why I loathe remakes. 1 Quote
von Rantala Posted March 14, 2017 Author Posted March 14, 2017 Yes another Historial movie from to watch from me, most of my favorite movies is historical movies. Watched this movie about 20-30 time and watch it 1-2 time per year. Great great movie. Mia Wasikowska make best acting performance and i like that its true story. I almost hope that movie would have been 3 hour long, its stop one hour too early. If you like WWII movies and historical movies, this is movie you to watch. Quote
LazyHippo Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Really very near of what I expect of a good war movie, not easy to understand but takes you to another world and leaves you a mark in your soul while you watch it. "Every man fight his own war" Quote
