ET loading wrong cfg or something......?

Hey guys, I've been running into this annoying problem the last couple of days. Occasionally when I would join the jay 2 server, my name would show my old screen name, easy enough to fix though; all I had to to was exit ET and restart and the problem would go away.

Anyway, over the last three or four days it won't show my =F|A=DONG name, the senstivity is all off, among other things that are now wrong with my settings. I still show my actual ammount of XP, just everything else changed on its own. How do I fix this? VERY annoying.

I do always run as administrator.

Same thing Null said, run as admin.

Steps:

Make shortcut of ET.exe on desktop 

Right Click on shortcut > Properties > Compatibility Tab > Run this program as an Administrator

Not sure what Os you're running but that would work Win 7,8, and 10. (Could be in a different tab or option area, but under properties)

 

Then fix your settings  to your liking, I prefer to use the autoexe along side normal settings.

Exit game, then open again to see if it worked and saved your settings. 

 

The name thing, just make sure you have it the same everywhere (settings, autoexe)

Delete the files in /jaymod/profiles/=F|A=DONG/.

 

Restart ET, exec your cfg, should be all good

Keep backups of all your ET files, including the wolfenstein/ mods / profile  / etconsole.cfg (s)

 

I had a corrupt logon to Jay#2 a couple of days ago and my etconsole file had reverted partway to default.  I was able to restore a backup of the file.  Not all my cvars were changed, just enough to annoy me!
