St0rmSlaSh
Hey guys, I got this new game called duelyst and it is a mix of magic and space checkers from star wars. It's a fun game! I played it a few times and when I tried to get on today, it said I needed to restart the application through steam. I do not know what that means. I tried re-downloading the game, but it still displays that message. If anyone can help me, I will be truly grateful!
Xernicus
Well let's start with the simple question: Did you download Duelyst through Steam? And are you running it through Steam?Looks like it was just released yesterday through Valve's store, so my guess is that's their way of distributing the game. Therefore, you'd want to download Steam and create an account (if you have not already), and then re-download the game from here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/291410I looked at the executable linked from their website, and it looks like it's an alpha version of the game (0.0.10), whereas the version on Steam is probably version 1.0- or the "official" release. Now if you are trying to run the game through Steam, I don't really know what to say other than to start looking at the Applications log in the Event Viewer?

Xernicus
Alright, well that settles that then. I'm going to see if I can't find out about whether SteamApps (some or all) and/or this game write local log files in the event that they crash. In the meantime, here is how to access the Event Viewer: Press Win+X to open the "Power User" menu, and choose "Event Viewer" from the Applications listed. Once the Event Viewer has opened, open the "Windows Logs" folder, and select the "Application" log. You would be looking for an event of "Error" or "Warning" level that coincides with the time you tried to start the game. EDIT: I saw a response from one of the developers on the Steam Community. Their current advice is to go to their support portal at https://duelyst.uservoice.com/ and to choose the "Contact Support" button on the right hand sidebar. Here's the information they would like to have:-Your OS type and version (ie: Windows 10, Mac OS 10.x, etc)-The client you are running on (Steam) -Any additional error codes -How to trigger the issue (lol, by starting the game?)
