How can I get the UAV map to show up when specking?

Question

Posted

I have tried everything to find a topic on this but to no avail.

Sid said something about having to be dead to get this to work.  I have tried dying and specking,  switching to the player's team and dying and other stuff.

Like not entering the game but using the back button.  But the UAV map never shows up.

Can anyone tell me exactly how to get this done?

I believe you have to join a team and then not select a class, this forces you to spectate from the view of that team (with an uav).

I think this is correct.  The only problem I have when doing this is I get auto assigned to the other team while trying to spectate in a particular team mode.

Thanks guys.  I will give that a try.

I tried everything doing that but the UAV map would not show up.

You can't see the uav map itself haha.

When you select a team and then press esc, you enter dead spec mode. This allows you to HEAR when your team and their team have uav up. You can also see the words UAV CALLED IN/ ENEMY UAV CALLED IN or UAV/ENEMY UAV EXPIRED to give you an idea of when the uav is up or not for both teams.

This way you can make better judgements as to what should and shouldn't be possible.

Also. When you are in "dead spec" if you press esc while on a team you can see a large map to the right of team selection. This will show uav for whatever team you happen to be dead specced on.

So making the assumption that the player was using the UAV map to kill someone, when you are specking him, is just a judgement call by others who are

watching the demo you made?

A lot of the time it is easy to tell the difference if someone is using the UAV or if they just have no clue at all. Don't know if this is the best place to discuss methods.
