I first saw him in a tv show about a bunch of detectives in New York City. It was called Barney Miller.  He looked 80 then.

 

Most of you will remember him from Godfather I and II.

 

He was a great character actor.

Yes, and he was only about 54 then!  The story said that he was doing 5-mile jogs then, which looked impossible for his character to do on that show. That was some good acting.
