Ok. This week will be the last practice I can attend for a while, as I leave for China on the 11th.

In the meantime, hopefully Fred doesn't cause you all to rage quit. So don't be overbearing Fred, and also keep in mind practice can't be all play and no work. Meaning don't just say "let's just play and work it out as it goes" and don't shut out everyone's opinions. Practice let's you try out every opinion regardless of how dumb it might turn out to be with no reprecussions. Better to prove it won't work through practice than to prove it won't work in the middle of a match.

On that note, next practice will start with maprunning and recoil control for all players.

Those that want to be smg users better learn to play confidently and aggresively for each bombsite. Those that want to be assault rifle players won't have to run as far, but none the less I will expect you to run quickly to your post.

At the same time, choose your weapon of preference, and I will check how well you control the recoil when firing down the sight in both bursts and full auto (assuming your weapon is capable of it). Bonus points in my book if you use either AKs, minor points for M4 and MP5.

The point of maprunning is to take control of key points of the map faster. Faster you get to the spot, the more you can contribute to the team, and the more likely you'll avoid a prenade without having to slow down.

The point of recoil control is so that your shots count. I'm not going to complain on your aim, that I can't fix. But I can make sure that once your shots are on target, they won't bounce off target after the first shot. This will ultimately come down to you though, I can just bring your attention to it.

China? How long are you going to be there?

Also, I finally got a mic today, so I'll finally be able to help more by communicating. :D

Gonna be there for a little over 2 weeks.

Also, because Fred asked me my reasoning for bonus points to certain weapons, I will explain.

Promod had nerfed the MP5 so it was less useful over range. So now it sux in mid to long range compared to an assault rifle, and isnt as good close range as an AKu. In addition, it takes longer to reload, and it's dps (damage per second) is lower than the AKu.

M4 is there because, while it is still an ok rifle, the AK once mastered can give greater dps, and provides better visibility when ironsighted.

In advance I will not be in practice for the next two weeks.

Got a load of stuff I gotta worry about (final exams, projects ect.)

Though on the 18th I will be at practice. So you guys have fun and don't

get into too much trouble :P

I think one of the things I've noticed during practices is that it seems essentially worthless to be playing with less than 5 players on a team. I think we lose any sort of strategy when it gets down to the lower numbers and it feel a lot more like we are just trying to kill each other rather than go for the objective. I think maybe we should just call off the practices if we get below 8 or 9 people, as that's where we really seem to be getting stretched thin.

Strategy does deterierate with less people, but killing each other isn't that bad either. More practice with the gun gives better results in the long run.

And that was my last week for practice, again Fred, don't be too quick to switch to the next map. Discuss map strategy and what worked and what didn't. And keep note of them too. I want to know exactly what you learned in the 2 groups of practices I'm missing.

now since we are joining TWL... PRACTICES ARE NOW 4 TIMES A WEEK. FRIDAY SATURDAY MONDAY WEDNESDAY. ALL AT 8PM EST

the reason for this is to ramp up our game so we can rape on twl. the reason for this increase is to be ready. if you have a short memory it is because last time we were more casual we got raped and team went away. also please recruit people for team. if we have enough people we can make a "B" team. this would mean more scrimiges for everyone.

also please make as many practices as you can.

finally this isnt a permanent change. if we do good in twl we can slightly decrease it while if we get rolled i will increase it.

thanks

Fred

Fred... already I'm going to step in to intervene. I will never be able to fit 4 practices in a week, especially during my senior year. Then there's the burnout factor, as not everyone is willing to play for X amount of time each week. A lot of startup teams I've been in died out because of an overzealeous leader.

At most, I can see 3 practices fitting in, possibly a 4th if its informal and its all volunteers. But I just don't see forcing 4 or more practices as a smart move.

I do support a B team, a lot easier to fit more players into matches if there's 10 possible slots instead of 5.

And finally, even if we do good in TWL, I see still having 3 or 2 practices a week as a good habit to get into. Shows you still can fit it into your schedule, and shows you still have interest.

Why get rid of Friday? I thought the whole Friday-Saturday thing was working pretty well, so why not Friday, Saturday, and then either Monday for Wednesday? Also, we replace the "Practice" with "Scrim" in our server since we will actually be practicing on it now. :P

Also, anyone know if the reload bind is allowed or not in TWL?

MoJo says it is.
