Night Hunter Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Being a Mac gamer isn’t easy, with most publishers overlooking the platform and usually releasing games just for Windows and/or consoles, it always brought me a bit of joy when Blizzard would release such games as Heroes of the Storm, Starcraft II and World of Warcraft (including all it’s expansions) being made available for both PC and Mac on the same day. Q. Will Mac users be able to participate in the beta? A. We’re developing Overwatch for Windows-based PCs only, so a Mac-specific beta will not be provided. This is the first game Blizzard have made in years that will not be Mac compatible, even going as far back as Blackthorne and the original Warcraft, all PC releases have been accompanied by a Mac OS release. Things aren’t all bleak though, as recent leaks have suggested, Overwatch will be making it’s way to both the PS4 and Xbox One. Hopefully, this isn’t a sign of things to come from Blizzard Entertainment, as they are one of the few remaining publishers who support the Mac gaming fanbase. Heretic121 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Developers seem more willing to develop for Linux than Mac, and that's usually because of the look of the thing than anything. Quote
