Need for Speed developer Ghost Games has announced the PC version of year's entry in EA's racing series will be delayed.

Instead of launching alongside the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions on November 3 in North America and November 5 worldwide, Need for Speed on PC will be available in "Spring 2016."

According to Ghost Games, the extra time was necessary to "increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC."

"We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one," it explained in a statement.

The studio also cited the desire to implement an unlocked frame rate as a key.

"At Ghost, we're united by one common passion... to deliver the best Need for Speed experience possible. And at every step of the development process we're guided by our community.

"Part of the conversation includes hearing from our PC community that an unlocked frame rate in Need for Speed is a massive priority for you, and we fully agree. To deliver this, we’ve made the decision to move the PC release date to Spring 2016."

Ghost Games also announced it is planning on "undertaking a closed beta on PS4 and Xbox One in the coming weeks to help us test our server infrastructure to help prepare for launch."

At Gamescom, EA released a new trailer for Need for Speed that highlights how it will blend gameplay with live-action. Its developer has explained why the new Need for Speed will require an Internet connection and says fans can expect a good amount of post-launch DLC. The developer has also released a new "five ways to play" video

Pc master race? Pc delayed race!

As much add I'm looking forward to this, I really hope they work on optimization over graphics. 2015 has been a f***ing train wreck for optimized aaa titles.

They need to take note of mgs v.
