Minecraft Mods and Skins

Can someone please help point my son in the right direction. He wants to download some mods for Minecraft and everywhere we seem to go it always downloads other crap with it. Does someone know of a safe website to downloads mods

There are a lot of good mod packs out there, Does he have any one in particular? I'll list a few for you that are creditable.

If you're getting downloads from adfly you have to watch what you do. Do not click on the download button that always pops up in the middle.. In the upper right hand corner you will see something that says wait five seconds or something to that matter.  Then it will count down and say "skip add" I think haha, click skip and then it will take you to the actual download..  

 

I just woke up, and I am sure someone else might explain that better hehe

Don't know if you've been using it or not, but Planet Minecraft is the #1 resource for Minecraft skins and mods, I've never had an issue with it.

Thank you all for the help. I will try that. it just seems like there are 10 download buttons and then i get the call from downstairs saying there is a problem.

Unfortunately a lot of downloads are hosted on different sites and they try to install third party software. If you make sure to look closely while installing you should be able to get through the process without downloading any crap you don't want.

Hey. Not sure if you would like the xray mod, I dont even think it's allowed but if your son wants to make the game a bit easier, download the latest version that you currently have (latest is 1.8 atm)

If this is considered a hack and not allowed, immediately take this post off, I don't want others downloading it and using it for cheats..
