How many reported cases of Americans supporting ISIS or threatening Americans? Under 100? And how many people live in America? 317 million as of 2014. 100 out of 317 million is .0003% percent of the population. That's a negligible number. I'm not saying there aren't crazy people out there, but there's no reason to overreact to such a minuscule number of people.

Anecdotal evidence is not generally considered good evidence. 1) The FBI person specializes in looking for these people. That can misconstrue his view on things and cause him to overreact and overemphasize the size of things. 2) Your CO, as a member of the armed forces, is personally effected by this news (the same goes for you) and because it "could" effect him, he is more likely to exaggerate the scope of the issue.

Again, I'm not dismissing the possibility or likelihood of those people being out there. I'm just advocating a level-headed and more objective view of the situation.
