They had a deal a while ago to make a movie on RTCW. They broke that off.  Any plans for a movie?  I think they should do one.

They should, but just like every great game that has gone on to the big screen they will screw it up and make it suck

I don't think they would. Game is old and popularity is really low.

I disagree with this, highly. If you were active on RtCW you'd see that there's still competition, live shout casts, and still plenty of clans from the 2001 era of RtCW :)

Check out this thread I started a few weeks back, everything RtCW related as of right now. Even a free download.

I played last season, and it was great fun, especially seeing yourself shout casted by the one and only WarWitch himself on twitchtv.

Check out the link, rtcw is far from being dead, it's even more competitive then ET right now.

Not talking about those who still know/play it. Talking about general public. It's all about money in Hollywood. To make/produce a movie it takes allot of time and money.

Since RCTW is not that populair anymore, there is a little chance they will make money out of the movie. That was my point, there will be a bigger chance that they make a movie out of Assassin's Creed or Halo as they mentioned before on serveral news websites.

Oh, I took your reply a different way, my apologies. However the game itself is still popular, and the community is still quite large. This game was made, and released in 2001 and still to this day, is being played, shout casted, etc. First call of duty ever made, or the first battle field ever made, you see peoeple playing that competitively or online? Hell no, those servers shut down a long time ago. Where as with RtCW, it's all about being dedicated to the game, and keeping it alive.

I do agree with what you're saying about Hollywood, I doubt this game could ever be made out to be a movie. For one, it would be racist, and quite vulgar in some scenes when it comes to the Nazis.

No problem. Battlefield 1942 is still playable online on Origin, it's free to play now. hehe, not sure about competitively play.

About racist parts, I don't think that would been have a problem looking to Inglorious Bastards as example. ofc they can make a movie which got influences out of RCTW. :)

Player base on battlefield 1942? If it's over 500, then you definitely beat RtCW lol. Player base isn't huge, but it's the people still around that make RtCW what it always was and will be, the best FPS game created :)

Doubt we will see this become a movie any time soon, on many different reasons and factors that you and I could talk about for days. :P

According to Gametracker page of BF1942 there are more active servers than ET. Don't know about RCTW. :P

But anyway, we are getting offtopic now, about this movie of RCTW, very little chance that it will come, sad enough.
