it has to do with the fact that the cuts in the board are made in such a way that the space between the parts will somehow be bigger and thus creating 'spare space', this all has to do with math.

on the internet there is a picture that explains it but i cant find it at the moment.

funfact: the title of the site is biertijd which is dutch for beer time, :)
