just wondering if we could have a limit on the max amount of grenade launchers on the hardcore server. I played for 2 hours today and there was always at least 4 guys using the rnade and I played one map where there was 6. Wouldn't the max 2 be good and unlock max number of medics. I would rather be killed by Rambo medics then a guy spamming grenades. I played one map where I guys used rnade 85 times if you multiply that by 4 or 6 that's a lot of grenades for a hardcore server.

Agreed. 2 rnades max. per team should suffice. I also agree with unlocking the number of medics or at least raising the amount allowed from say the current number, 6, to 8.

ehh I agree with OP. rnades boggle my mind. years ago they were looked down upon with disdain and a nickname of noobstick. Nowadays its like the norm, i dont get it. its a panzer on a rifle, why are you happy with yourself?   :blink:

Limit the rnades and power down flamer = everyone is happy. Except me if rnades are taken if I want to use it :P

 

And to be sure you ment rifle with nades is limited but you can still use rifle without rnades?

would you want this? without the nade a rifle is less dps than a mp40 or thompson.. granted the accuracy but still...

 

Personally  I would think to leave engineer unlimited, while limiting the number of people who can select the rifle.

 

However I rarely use rifle, so if it is important to you then perhaps this needs be considered.

I don't pretty much care if my rifle has nades or not so I would use it if I'm engi even without nades :) So yes, if rifle is going to get any limit then I'm voting for rnade not rifle limit.

Maybe it would be better to limit the number of rifles with grenade launchers, rather than the rifles themselves.

Been saying it for years in server that hardcore should be the pub that minimizes the scrub play.

 

Thus removing flamer, reducing panzer to stock damage, spread and fire rate, reduce mines to 6, rnades need a cap of 2 per team, and frontal knifes should not do 50 dmg with covert lvl 4. Only backstabs should get the dmg increase.

 

Do this and he jackoffs who just run around and spam for ez frags will have their effectiveness greatly normalized. I love the xp save but certain settings are just way too strong. Panzer and flamers as main example in terms of xp benefits that are overpowering. The covert frontal damage comes from silent mod i think, and rnades only become an issue when a large number use them. Mines at 10 ruin some maps with choke points via battery. Make these changes and hardcore will further live up to its name. Skill over spam is what most want out of the hardcore server from what I've seen over the years.

I laregely agree with what Raider said, but I do get that changes scare people away. That being said, the number of rnades really is a critical problem. It quite often makes the game completely unplayable. On some maps there are literally 2 rnaders camping every corner, haha. On the plus side it gets the ETPro SW server a boost in traffic.

this is lol, but also a pretty awesome suggestion as i am sure there are a few people who would actually pay for this. In fact, monetizing a lot of things would make sense as far as a business model goes- I would pay more than most people would consider a reasonable amount if i had the ability to putteam. I loathe certain players who stack teams then work the objective with a stack- I would love to always put them to the unstacked team.. This would not only be very fair, but also make for huge lols among the regulars when the said players log out as opposed to playing a fair match.

 

Anyways i hope this doesnt segway into another conversation, dont effing reply to this omg! no topic hijack!  but making things up for sale would increase the money flow. and if anyone abuses a privilege then simply take it away from them. problem solved and the donation is already banked :)
